Showtime’s hit series “Homeland” recently aired an episode picturing a fictional Syrian refugee camp with Arabic graffiti. A Hezbollah (political party) militant escorted CIA agent Carrie Mathison past a graffiti-covered wall. Viewers who read Arabic found strange, harsh meanings behind the graffiti. One calle Homeland racist, and another read “ ‘Homeland’ is not a show.” Egyptian artist Heba Y. Amin took credit for the graffiti along with artists Caram Kapp and Stone. She said it was a soft protest against the misleading stereotypes on Muslims often shown in the series. Amin says producers wanted to make the camp authentic with art. Building owners give permission to draw a graffiti art on walls because, it makes buildings meaningful, attractive and colorful such as the “Five Pointz” and “Top to Bottom” buildings. From my personal experience, during in our trip “Top to Bottom”, I observed that the building was covered by different type of colorful paintings, pictures and, writings. That pictures inspired and amazed me. Every picture has a different meaning and artist wants to show people by his graffiti art. Also, People use the building wall to raise their voice against of any unlawful work and show their ideas. For example, in 1971, Bangladesh fought with Pakistan to get the freedom. Bangladeshi graffiti artist wrote the slogan on the building wall to inspire people to fight with Pakistani army. On examining of the film, the movie’s setting, agencies involved, and the subject matter targeted, the appropriate historical and social themes were connected to the plot. The circumstances in the film depicting the aftermath of September 11th attacks and the U.S. government’s role in tracking Osama Bin Laden were realistic. After the 9/11 attacks, Americans felt that radicalized Islamic groups and their leaders that encouraged these followers to attack America were enemies to their country. Therefore, the film didn’t have to have a poster of Al-Qaeda or Osama Bin Laden to be used as propaganda to make the point that the radicalized Islamic group was the enemy of the United States; this decision had already been made by the United States.
For years on end, countries have been fighting with big museums from other countries for ancient artifacts that belong to the original countries. The argument of whether or not the museums should be able to keep them still remains. It is the right of the country to have their own artifacts. It is imperative for countries to be able showcase their historical artifacts, therefor museums should return them to their rightful owners.

The youth use graffiti as a way to provide alternate solutions for oppressions and cultural conditions. In recent years, the word “Media” has become a controversial subject due to the reputation that has been formed surrounding it. When defined, “Media” can refer to any form of mass communication, designed to convey information around the globe. However, due to the influential nature of broadcasting, large corporations such as the American broadcasting Corporation (ABC) manipulate reality in order to convey a specific ideology. Under certain circumstances, mass-manipulation of such information can vastly impact the perception of the public on issues such as insurgency in the Middle East. An example of this effect is the aftermath of 9/11, the monumental act of aggression and revolt that took place on the morning of September 11th 2001 in New York City, NY. At 9:03 am United Flight 175, a Boeing 757, was flown into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. The aircraft entered the south face at floors 77-85, controlled by several men of Middle Eastern ethnicity (Federal Bureau of Investigation). In the wake of tragedy, the gap between religion and ethnicity was merged. All those of Middle Eastern ethnicity, or Islamic practice (collectively referred to as “Muslims”), were negatively isolated and integrated into the world of broadcasting. In 2005, the Palestinian director and writer, Hany Abu-Assad, released his award-winning motion picture, “Paradise Now.” The film follows two Palestinian friends, over a period of two days, who are chosen by an extremist terrorist group to carry out a suicide mission in Tel-Aviv during the 2004 Intifada. The mission: to detonate a bomb strapped to their stomachs in the city. Because the film industry seldom portrays terrorists as people capable of having any sort of humanity, you would think the director of “Paradise Now” would also depict the two main characters as heartless fiends. Instead, he makes an attempt to humanize the protagonists, Khaled and Said, by providing us with a glimpse into their psyches from the time they discover they’ve been recruited for a suicide bombing operation to the very last moments before Said executes the mission.

A growing sense of nationalism from many different religious ideologies created a desperate fight for Middle Eastern land. The conflict soon gave way to wars, creating a sense of chaos and danger for the indigenous individuals of the war-torn countries, which still continues to this day. Proliferating immigrants and refugees from these areas look for a safe haven outside of the unstable Middle East, such as America, the land of the free. However, America is currently in a state of political change. A shift in presidential power may soon create new regulation for immigration statute. A religious test has been suggested throughout America’s 2016 presidential campaign, due to the actions of certain radicals and extremists whose religious ideologies are paired with these war-torn countries. The issue on illegal immigrants has been facing America over so many years “What is illegal immigration? This is the migration of foreigners to a country who are not legally eligible to migrate or extend their stay for more than a given period yet they refuse to leave. According to the United States Department of Home Security, people involved in illegal immigration are those non US residents who either crossed the borders without inspection or people who are given visas to stay for a while but instead of leaving, they overstay.” There is no reliable count of illegal immigration. In the article “Revolution in a Can” by Blake Gopnik, he states, “The most elaborate images from Egypt, Libya, and Haiti today look very much like the 1980s paint jobs on New York subway cars and warehouse facades, and yet their point is not to function as art but to work as carriers of content and opinion” (114). In other words, graffiti is used to show how people truly feel inside. This is important because in addition to being considered art, it also serves the function of expressing oneself if that freedom does not exist. As a matter of fact pieces like this can be found all over the world. They are located on the Palestinian West Bank, on a wall on Benghazi in Libya, and in Tahrir Square in Egypt. A piece of graffiti art that epitomizes this is Begging for Change by graffiti artist Meek. The work engaged the public since it was done right near a train station. Immigration poses an ongoing debate in which people are becoming increasingly unsure as to whether immigrants are benefiting their society. This paper will examine three of the main benefits of immigration: the increase in diversity it provides, the rise in skills and labor and the benefits to the economy. Immigration leads to cross-cultural integration, therefore increasing ethnic variety. This increase in diversity is beneficial as it leads to improvements in society, as well as educational development. Increased immigration also means there are more skills and experts available to the hosting countries, as well as extra workers to take up jobs that need filling. Immigration also leads to improvements in the economy as taxes are paid and employment and wages increase.
