Immigration has been a known phenomenal during the history of civilization. People have been leaving their homes and native countries and moving toward another country for better life opportunities for thousands of years. However, recently the immigration has been the most discussed topic. There are a lot of people supporting immigration and others that see immigrants as a thread in their lives. US has been historically known as the country of immigrants because the country was made by immigrants. Illegal immigrants are another concern. People moving to these countries in illegal way have a bad impact in the economy. They don’t pay taxes and most of them have difficulties into finding jobs because they don’t have job permit so they will try to work illegally. Not having these people registered it’s a problem for the security because it’s hard to track what they are doing and where they are working. Some people use their undocumented status to do criminal affairs like drugs and prostitution. Most of the people that are against immigrants, support their idea that immigrants are taking jobs. However, most of the studies show that immigrants increase the country’s work force and GDP. “Immigration increases a country’s human capital. That’s to say, it increases the number of workers available to help businesses expand or innovators make that next big breakthrough” (Digest, 2013). Most of the lower end jobs like cleaning, construction, agriculture that US citizens or European citizens don’t accept to do, immigrants are glad to work. Farmers are having problems to find workers, which will make them unable to produce enough and will cause the country to import some of the product that could easily produce.
