What makes a sport a sport? A sport is an athletic activity that requires skill or physical prowess. It is often a “competitive” type such as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, etc. When it comes to video games is their a thought that maybe playing games can be considered an actual sport. Many people will agree that gaming should be considered a sport and many will disagree.

Gaming requires tremendous amount of skill and strategy. It can either be played individually or with a team. Professional players train for months on end, showing strong mental focus, quick reaction time, and extreme dedication when they compete.

In 2014 there was nearly 205 million viewers that watch eSports according to NewZoo. In 2013 popular game LoL (League Of Legends) attracted 32 million live viewers during the World championships. That’s more than double baseball’s World series. It even triumphed game seven in the NBA finals. The League of Legends World championship attracted up to 40,000 fans to Sangam stadium in Seoul in 2014. That stadium hosted the football World cup semi-finals
