Football, soccer, tennis, or track usually comes into the mind of people when they usually think about sports, but there exist certain requirements on makes a sport. Generally, people understand the idea of a sport, but in a more limited scope, usually thinking about a “sport” through what they see everyday, especially in a major sports network, ESPN or any channels devoted to mainstream sporting events. There exist a general idea of what makes a “sport”, thus there should be standards by which paintball is determine to be a sport. Another sport also faced a similar history to paintball which is American Football, which originated in 1869 by two universities, Princeton and Brunswick in a friendly competition with rugby rules. Anyone born in America grew up under the game of football and even those people who do not play football know what the sport looks like. The main purpose for the equipment is to maximize the protection from being hit by paintball pellets and comfort in any environment, and purchasing your own equipment feels rewarding because the guns provided at the location may be insufficient in shooting pellets or may malfunction during the game, thus ruining the experience. There are tactics used in the game of paintball with flanking a group from the side or rear, ambushing a group of unsuspecting paintballers, providing suppressing fire, and standing post. Paintball is quite a new sport and is becoming more and more popular. It has been around since 1982, but professional paintball teams have just recently come together in 2002. The rules of paintball are not very complicated and are very concise. The game is very entertaining to play. There are also plenty of different types of products used to play the game. It is the one of the only sports that I am interested in and I hope that someday it could become a more popular sport.

So why is it that the original game of football is not as nearly as famous as in North American than any other countries outside our continent? A real good reason for this is because soccer doesn't have a great tradition in North America, unlike other sports such as American football, hockey, or basketball. Also, the cultural difference makes soccer less rampant in North America because many of us can?t seem to be patient enough to watch a sport with no frequent excitement. This mostly involves a preferred team scoring numerous times during a match. There are also plenty of other exciting sports that North Americans love to watch and play. Thus, soccer is put in the middle of the backseat of a crammed van, a place where nobody wants to be in or even pay attention to.

People had been tossing Frisbees around for years, but had yet to create a sport using the Frisbee disk. At Columbia High School in New Jersey, students from the school newspaper created a new sport, combining different aspects of soccer, football, basketball, team handball, and hockey, they called it Ultimate Frisbee. These students decided to write an official set of rules for Ultimate Frisbee. At first, it was only played by a few students at Columbia. The sport soon caught on at other colleges and high schools in the area. From then on, Ultimate spread rapidly throughout the United States, and was at first played only in schools. Since then many non-scholastic leagues have formed and many countries have started national teams. Not much has changed since the rules were first published, and since then, Ultimate has spread all over the world.
I had my first experience with the sport when I was very small. At the age of 5 my family brought me to a Nashville Titans game. I still vividly remember the lights,colors and players being at such a young age I immediately fell in love with it. I wanted so bad to be like those 11 men on the field.
