Have you ever felt stuck? Wherever you are, it’s the absolute last place you want to be. In the book Into the Wild, Chris McCandless feels stuck just like the average everyday person may feel. Chris finds his escape plan to the situation and feels he will free himself by going off to the wild. I agree with the author that Chris McCandless wasn’t a crazy person, a sociopath, or an outcast because he got along with many people very well, but he did seem somewhat incompetent, even though he survived for quite some time.

Overall, the best way to write an effective argument is to use the strategies that both Kelso and Saunders used. One used some better than the other, but neither failed to present their argument. Kelso’s credibility and use of facts overpowered Saunders, whereas Saunders use of opposing viewpoints and ongoing clear stance managed to surpass most of Kelso’s methods. In the end they were both engaging articles, who have points worth reading.

Think about free education. Everyone I know and many more people can benefit from a free education. Not having to work at a dead end job and being able to study whatever your are interested sounds great. In the article by Joanne Jacobs talks about how some of the reason for why people don’t go to college after high school is because of money, but that is not always the case. Students like Bezerra, who is an undocumented immigrants and attended community college would want the cost of college to lower. It's understandable that the cost for college is very high, but when you have the opportunity to get a grant why not take it? If the “ community colleges averages $3,347 per year” and you have can get “$5,730 that low-income students can receive per academic year in a pell grant”. Community College shouldn't be free if students can find a way to still attend without having many problems.
The High School Graduation Exam is currently being implemented in 24 states and more than half of the high school students across the country have to pass them in order to graduate. The current test, while it is more through than the minimum competency tests that were used in the 80s, still lacks many of the necessary fundamentals that colleges as well as employers are looking for. "The exit exams in these states measure some of the skills essential for college and workplace success, but a significant number of those skills go largely unmeasured"(Achieve, 2013). With the current "No Child Left Behind Act" schools are now being forced to prove that the diploma received at graduation actually has value in the real world by proving that these students are able to meet academic proficiency thresholds.

Even doing small things daily will greatly enrich and improve your life, and the lives of others around you." This quote shows us what we need to do in order to be what society thinks as, “good". In order to be a good person, you have to do good and moral things in your society consistently. However people might think that by doing one good thing once in a while will automatically make you a “good person”, but in reality it doesn’t.
People often times single me out for being a christian. They just love asking me about touchy subjects to see my response. And this is because, unfortunately, there are so many christians who have this idea that the whole world needs to see things the same way they do. You see so much hate coming out of a religion that claims to preach peace and love. Christians see it as protecting the bible but it just comes across as ignorant. I am not saying I don’t share in the opinions of many christians, but more than anything I am saying that christians need to learn that not everyone in the world is going to see it the same way they will. When it comes to sin, same sex marriage, and living a holy life there are more than one opinion on what is right. So, you can’t justify all of the hate-acts in the name of your religion. Instead use all that energy you waste on hate to love and help those around you, despite whether you think they are “right or wrong”. I believe that that’s what God is more concerned about.
