Are Emotion, But Are Other Emotions Important?

Over the past year, positive psychologists studied the basic emotions of the brain: sadness, madness, happiness.
Happiness is the most popular emotion, but are other emotions necessary? Positive psychologists argue that there are other emotions that are more important in life than happiness. Experiencing other emotions are important because both emotions can create happiness. Negative emotions are as equally important as positive emotions because negative emotions help the thinking processes and promote growth and improvement.
Negative emotions help our thinking process. When we are stuck in a dangerous situation, the brain triggers an immediate flight or fight response. Our flight or fight response is the human instinct that strikes the fear of death. Fear plays a crucial role in our awareness by tipping “us off to the presence of danger” ( Begley ). Fear helped our ancestors evolve to help them battle dangers in order to survive. Fear makes us more aware of our surroundings. A person’s brain kicks into survival mode. Negative emotion can also be toxic. Examples of unhealthy negative emotions are depression, anxiety, guilt and anger. These emotions promote destructive actions and behavior. When children develop negative behavior they lead to doing destructive actions. If the children continue to do the destructive action, it leads to negative consequences. Negative emotions can lead to serious health problems. Building emotions of rage and hatred in the mind affect the body process. Content feeling of negative emotions can take an effect on the body forming high level of stress, anxiety and high blood levels.
