For more than two centuries, women have been oppressed about the expectations of their gender role in society. Substantial efforts have and still are being contrived for females to become more dominant and superior to men. Of course, women have earned more rights and freedoms but is this enough compared to men? Feminism should be promoted so women can have the same equal privileges as men. Women should be educated, have the ability to work their dream job and feel beautiful. Women have come a long way from not being eligible to vote to voting more than men do. “Yet, women still hold less than 20 percent in congress, even though they make up half the population” (Cavanagh). Women deserve the same given rights as men.

Antifeminists want women to have certain limitations of beauty. You must only have a big butt, or big breast, etc. These types of conceptions are what lead women to have low self-esteem and self-consciousness. What people truly fail to realize is that beauty is not what's on the outside but what's on the inside. In today's society, social media plays a big role in women being skeptical about themselves. Social media sets high standards on the way women are conceived. For an example, if a woman gets more likes on her picture than any other women, she is considered more popular and beautiful. Moreover, "Approximately 80% of U.S. women don't like how they look"(Gallivan). Ultimately, social media is not all so bad because feminists have access to spread feminism.
