Annotated Bibliography It was the late 19th century when a lot of conflict for families from the Industrial Revolution and illegal drugs had easy access to anyone in the United Sates. These illegal drugs like morphine, cocaine, and alcohol were available through manufacture, delivery, and selling. It was proved that the over use of alcohol and violence in families’ homes were linked together around the 1850’s and that women and children were being abused by the father and husband from the letters and journals that were wrote. These were times when women were stay at home mothers and it was the man’s responsibility to be the provider for the wife and children. SAPRP understands the danger that drugs and alcohol has on our society. Drug and Alcohol abuse resulted in millions of deaths in the United States that could have been prevented, loss of funds in our society because the high crime rates and the high cost of health care. Also the way that people are becoming when they are on these drugs. It is proven that abusing drugs can and will result in abusive people. The organization is worth over 66 million dollars and the organization used this money just to support the United Sates citizen faced with drug abuse. There are also trained professionals that studied are far as psychology, sociology, criminal justice, social work and a lot others. Members of the SAPRP did their own study and reports on the relation between substance abuse and TANF, temporary assistance for needy families, participants since it was replaced with another program called Aid to Families with Dependent Children. Individuals working with and on behalf of welfare were uncertain if participants were meeting the requests of TANF. Report say that over 20% of TANF participants confirmed that they were using illegal drugs at least once in the year. From 1990 up to 2001 every year reports say that TANF participants have been
