A wiseman once said,"We should draw from the heart of suffering itself the means of inspiration and survival" (Winston Churchill). These words impacted many people throughout history. Although, Anne Frank took these words and applied them to her life. While taking resident in Germany, Anne and her family got caught in between Hitler's views on ethnicity. Because of this, Anne wrote about her survival under Nazis control in her diary: Anne Frank-The Diary of a Young Girl. Though, she had a positive attitude, the sufferings she endured while surviving from Nazis were harsh. Due to the Nazis control over Germany, Anne and her family moved to Holland in order to escape from the Nazis. While living in Holland, they abided by Hitler's restrictions even though these restrictions limited the amount of things they could do. Everything went well until Margot got a letter to work in the concentration camps. They left their normal life for a life in solitude. Little did they know, they had to deal with survival and sufferings of a tiny little floor. This tiny little floor became their home away from home and Anne called it "The Secret Annexe". For instance, Mrs. Van Daan criticizes the way she was brought up on September 27, 1942. Mrs. Van Daan states, “ You ought to have been in our home, we were properly brought up. It’s absurd that Anne’s so frightfully spoiled. I wouldn’t put up with it if Anne were my daughter.” Anne cannot stand that she is criticizing her upbringing, as if she was her own child. Furthermore, she feels as if she is criticized for behavior, childish behavior. Due to her family’s criticism of her behavior, she assumes her family does not approve of her.
