Anne Frank INTRO: Who is Anne Frank? “Anne Frank was a Jewish teenager who went into hiding during the Holocaust, writing about her traumatic experiences in the well-known novel, The Diary of Anne Frank. (Biography.com Editors Page 1) Anne Frank was one of the million Jews who were killed during the holocaust. “Her book was published on June 25, 1947 by her father, Otto Frank.” (Biography.com)

A. “Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany.”(Biography.com) Her family consists of a Father (Otto), Mother (Edith), Sister (Margot), and much more. I would say she had a rather large family. Anne Frank went to the Jewish Lyceum for her education with her sister, Margot Frank. “Jewish children were not allowed to attend a regular school, by order of the Nazis so she and her sister went to the Lyceum for the Jews.”(AnneFrank.org) The …show more content…

She wrote The Diary of a Young Girl (1947), Tales from the Secret Annex (1949), The works of Anne Frank (1959), and of course The Diary of Anne Frank. To some people, she is well-known, but to others she isn’t. Did you know that four other Jews lives in the Secret Annex with the Frank family? Their names? “Hermann and Auguste van Pels with their son Peter, and, for a time, Fritz Pfeffer, a German dentist.” (historyextra.com) That last person would be a surprise to many people. “On August 4, 1944, everyone in the annex was arrested. Rumor has it, somebody called the German Security Police to notify them that Jews were hiding at Prinsengracht 263. The identity of the caller is still a mystery even to this day, according to my source.”(historyextra.com)
Everyone who was arrested from the annex was sent first to the Westbork transit camp. Then they went on to Auschwitz. “The men and women were separated upon arrival.”(historyextra.com) The women in the family (Edith, Margot, and Anne) stuck together in a barrack, doing hard labor or work during the day.
