Late in 2012, a pit bull puppy named Trooper was leashed in the back of the pickup truck and was nearly dragged to death for over a mile across the Interstate 55 in Kentucky. There was also a similar case reported in 2011 in Missouri. A dog named Cricket was dragged behind her van’s owner. In 2013, people found many cases of animal cruelty in Viet Nam. A dog was found with black electrical tape wound around her muzzle in Southern Vietnam. The tape was so tight that she could not open her mouth to eat or drink. When people took her to the settler and began the surgery to take the tape off, the dogs’ muzzles were necrosis exposing the bone inside. Another report “Most Common Animals in Animal Cruelty Cases” graphed in November 11, 2015 shows that three common victims are dog (pit bull and non- pit bull dog) with 10960 cases holding over 65 percent of animal abuse, cat with 3384 cases and horse with 1643 cases. Animal abuse includes beating, shooting, burning, or abandonment. However, only the most shocking cases were reported. The rest of those was unsaid. With the hope that animals will no longer be abandoned, The Animal Rescue Association (ARA) is established in 2015, based in Oklahoma. The Animal Rescue Association’ mission is to rescue and foster animals including abandoned and abused animals, animals in laboratories, farm animals, and companion animals so they can receive a fully care with love. Recently, the Animal Rescue Association had written a letter to contact the members of Congress to request Obama Administration to appoint an Animal Protection Act for changing the agenda of animal cruelty. We also hope that President Obama will give a voice for animal in the White House and commit to achieve the progress for animals through federal legislations.
