I am sure that the ancient Egyptian culture was one of the most civilized cultures in the African region. Throughout the time, there are so many things that the Egyptian culture left for us, such as hieroglyphs, pyramids, religion, generation of scholars, and mummies. However, there is a question on how the environment affected the ancient Egyptian Civilization. I think there is one main contributions of environment on the ancient Egyptian civilization. The Nile River, and the Nile Valley affected the Egyptians culture a lot. First of all, how come such great wonder like great pyramid of Giza built? It is located in nowadays Cairo. Even though the center of the ancient Egyptian civilization was in a desert, the areas close to the Nile River were a fertile lands to domesticate plants and use them for food purposes. Furthermore, farmers developed techniques to grow their crops, even if it is flooding season or dry season, their irrigation system was developed due to the environment. Third of all, the ancient Egyptians were using the Nile River for a purpose of trade and information exchange. Due to the fertile land of the Nile Valley, the towns were not further than few miles from the river. So the water transportation, was much less expensive than other type of transportation system. As the empire grows, they needed to trade their goods with other empires. At that time, the foreign trade was almost same as diplomacy, so the Nile River was a way to the Mediterranean Sea. Fourth of all, the ancient Egypt was rich in mineral resources. Limestone and granite quarries were likely to be found in the Nile Valley. Also, there were a lot of mines that could be mined for mineral resources. The government was protecting the mines by troops at that time. Later in the Egyptian culture, they started to produce metal tools and jewelries. Moreover, the mineral resources were used to create great sculptures and buildings that represents the ancient Egyptian
