The short film '' Donkey '' is written by the author Keir Burrows. In my analysis, I will tell about the theme and the characters of the film, and in the end, I will make a conclusion about what I have read. In the short film, David is talking about his upbringing, where he was a kid, a teenager and an adult. In the short film ’’Donkey’’, we meet David, who talks about his past. David passes the preschool he went to, when he was 6 years old. He thinks of a boy, named Stanley, they are best friends. Stanley is good at imitating sounds of animals. He is funny; he could make water into wine. After preschool, they move away from each other. Before David knows it, he is in high school. A typical teenage boy, showing off. He strives to achieve popularity, which he does when he call Stanley a Donkey. In the short film, it says nothing about David’s year in elementary school. It may have been an ugly moment in his life, where he was the scapegoat. In high school, he wants to make friends, who respects him, and that is why he harasses Stanley. Before David turns 30 years, he has been to a top-university and married to an amazing girl. He also mentions that he is rich and everything goes well. It sounds like the most wonderful life. Based on that, it seems like David is very happy and confident about his life. Then comes the moment where David and Stanley meet again at the age of 30. Stanley talks to him as if nothing had happened that time in high school. Stanley is very friendly and mature, and ended up with an enjoyable, happy life, a well-paid job and a pretty wife. Stanley invites David to dinner. When his visit at Stanley’s ends, Stanly calls out ‘’Hee-haw’’ as a Donkey. David smiles, Stanley reminds him of the time in high school. When David walks on the street with the head down, he seems sad and hurt because of his behavior in high school. The one who laughs last, laughs
