Analysis of The David Beckham Story
In this essay I shall review, analyse and comment on a television
documentary entitled "The David Beckham story".
David Beckham is a tremendously well-known public figure. He became
famous at the age of 19 when he started playing football for
Manchester united. He is currently the captain of England's football
squad and is a prominent highly paid fashion model. David models for
police sunglasses, Nike footwear and has recently signed a contract
for marks and Spencer's.
David Beckham is married to pop star Victoria Adams who used to be a
singer for the spice girls and they have two sons named Brooklyn and
Romeo. David Beckham grew up in Manchester and from the age of 12/13
he was remarkably determined to play for Man united. He achieved his
goal when he was 19 yrs old and it was then he became nationally
famous. His life has been building up from then onwards and is now
captain for the England football team. However, when things could not
get much better he was offered a place to play football for Real
Madrid and he accepted the offer. But unfortunately this meant he had
to say goodbye to the Man united football team and many fans. In 2003
David and Victoria Beckham with their two sons Brooklyn and Romeo,
left Manchester and transferred to live in Spain. This was so that
they could be closer to their fans in Spain, even though David has
many fans situated all over the world. David is a very committed
family man, who dearly loves his family to bits.

wants to show the viewers that however rich David Beckham is, he still
does normal things.
Now I've seen the David Beckham story, I think he's not snobby at all
and think he's a decent loving caring bloke. However before I saw the
documentary I had different views on him and thought he was rather
snobby and thought too much of himself. I think the makers of this
documentary wanted to show the millions of viewers watching what a
nice man David Beckham is and what his lifestyle is like. I think they
achieved this because the documentary was very real and therefore it
was not a rumour made up in a magazine. Overall I think this was a
really good documentary because we can judge for ourselves what David
Beckham is really like and what his personality is really like, rather
than judging him by his looks.
The phone hacking scandal was exposed first by the Royal family when News of the World published the story about Prince William’s knee, followed by arrests of News of the World royal editor Clive Goodman and private investigator Glenn Mulcaire in January 2007. Before things start to really get intense, editor Andy Coulson resigns but claims to have no knowledge on the voicemail hacking. Gordan Taylor, a soccer executive, was also victimized by Mulcaire’s hacking scandal. In June of 2008 News of the World settled out of court with him resulting in Taylor receiving $1.13 million. November 2009, the British Press Complaints Commission determined that due to their findings the phone hacking had ceased to continue (CNN, 2012).
Ashley Richards is an indigenous youth from Manitoba. She moved to Toronto with her mother at age 14, but left home at age 15 due to conflict with her mother. That led her to be homeless on the streets of Toronto. Later on her grandmother supported her in buying and apartment. But her grandmother was ill so she had to go back to Winnipeg, she later died.
When Bailey was 6 and he had just started playing soccer. He was really awful at it. He used to kick the ball with his toe and when he dribbled it, he kicked it far in front of himself and he just ran after the ball. As the years passed and he played soccer almost every season, he got a lot better. In his second year of playing soccer, he played on a different team and he felt uncomfortable because he knew no one. His positions he played were offense and defense. When he did play, it was like he just found out what a soccer ball was. He did almost as bad as his first year. He was way too used to playing defense, so he didn’t get the chance to dribble much and he was very bad at it. When Bailey started practicing and doing drills with his dad,
“Ugh.” That's what I told my uncle when he signed me up for the Special Olympics. I barely made it to the park on time that morning and reluctantly walked over to the sign-in tent. Looking across the field, I stood there thinking what did I get myself into. I didn't know what to expect when I arrived and thought, “Man, I'm wasting nine hours of my summer on a Saturday morning trying to watch people who are disabled that can't even play soccer.” I figured my day would consist of helping these people play soccer and that was it. It ended up being a lot more enjoyable due to the help of a friend named Daniel.
I've recently came to the realization that plying full time soccer from when I was 5 years old to now has put a toll on my body.
As the Nike football spun through the air on a breezy fall day, all I could hear was “catch it with your eyes”. At 3 years old I could not understand what my dad actually meant when he said that.
This is me. Staring into the barrel of the photographer’s camera lens, trying desperately to fake a smile. At that age, this is probably as close as I ever got to smiling at the soccer pitch. That half smile, half frown, while contemplating why I was really there. “You need a spring sport”, were the words of my parents, who “didn’t understand” how hard it was to dive headfirst into a new sport. I would have been a lot happier if I had a pair of hockey skates on.
In the year 2015, 15 years old, I am sitting down on my couch playing FIFA. I love and treasure FIFA. FIFA is a virtual soccer video game with top of the line game play, graphics, and producers. FIFA is almost like a best friend: one second you will be aggravated or irritated because of a dreadful play, but the following moment they pull through for you and support you, just like a best friend. I would rather be playing FIFA or be with my best friend than anything else in the world, no matter what. FIFA is one of a kind, just like a best friend. My best friend and I share the passion for soccer, we both play soccer, we watch soccer and we play FIFA together. We have been best friends ever since first grade; we have grown up together
The moment I felt like a lot of things it was in third grade….. It was at my soccer game and we were tied with the best team in the league we were rival teams and they were undefeated just like us and we were playing for about 10 minutes into overtime. But the thing was I was goalie at the time and it was my first time. So it was really scary not being the one on the field moving around and then me as goalie just staring down the field. I mean this was so boring. I asked the coach to sub me out because I just was not feeling it, but the answer was no he needed me in that position. I mean it was the only time I was gonna be goalie because are original was absent. This game. It was really unfortunate because I really had the most fun when I was playing offense on the other hand it would sometimes be midfield or even defence but, goalie that was not my taste.
It has been a long time since attending a football game at a stadium, a little over 14 years to be exact. The last time I went was in Pontiac, Michigan, I saw the Detroit Lions lose that day, like so many of their other games. I had been to a quite a few NFL games, but this was only going to be my second college game, the one thing I remember about that game was that the crowd was very rowdy, but it was a home game and we were the home team. When I started playing football I was about eleven years old. I played for my park organization which was Brown Park. My first team name I played for was the Titians. The coach for the Titians is the one who actually made me come play because he had seen me in the basketball gym. He said I could move for my size and would like me to play with him. I said no but then he went talk to my mom and next thing I know my mom tells me I am playing football next year. I was horrible the first couple weeks but got better later in the season. I became one the best defense lineman and offensive lineman players on the team. Then when I got older I played football in middle school at Acadian Middle and Lafayette Christian Academy. Players, people, and even coaches all thought I could not have been a speed back.
