A century ago, divorce was nearly non-existent due to the cultural and religious pressures placed upon married couples. Though over time Canadians have generally become more tolerate of what was once considered ‘mortal sin’, marital separation and divorce still remain very taboo topics in society. Political leaders are frowned upon when their marriages’ crumble, religions isolate and shun those who break their martial vows and people continue to look down on those who proceed to legally separate their households. With that being said, couples do not just decide to get a divorce for no particular reason. There must be something driving them towards marital dissatisfaction and further, driving them towards divorce.
Some relationships last a lifetime and others are destroyed for various reasons. Marriage is in my view one of the most fragile relationships in today's society. Although it is scientifically proven that the family is the place where a person can develop physically and intellectually in a harmonious way, and can maintain his/her physical and mental health, today many families are falling apart, causing much suffering not only to the partners but also to the children in the family. The author of the article on the site www.apa.org/helpcenter, suggests a few steps to take in order to keep the romantic partnership in good working order, and I think this is also true for a happy marriage too. According to the site, communication is a key piece of healthy relationships. Another recommendation is to keep the marriage relationship interesting, planning interesting activities together, away from the daily routine. When you can no longer overcome the obstacles that arise in marriage, it is recommended to call for outside
In relationships the adage is often proven. A married couple that argues with each other constantly can seek a marriage counselor for advice. Advice on how to spice up or fix their marriage that is not up to par. However, it is entirely up to the couple to fix the problems the couple has with each other. Perhaps the wife would argue that the husband never washes the dishes, never puts the toilet seat down, and always leaves his dirty clothes in the bathroom. The husband argues that the wife does not work, stays home all day doing nothing, is never in the mood for sex, and the least thing she could have done is, cleaned the house and made dinner by the time he gets home from his work. The counselor can analyze the situation, and suggest that the wife occupy herself by having the house clean and dinner ready when the husband gets home from work. The counselor also suggests that the husband be considerate and pick up his dirty laundry from the bathroom, put the toilet seat back down after using the toilet, wash his utensils after using them and he might get his sexual desires satisfied. The marriage problems might be straightened out if and only if the couple decides to use the advice the marriage counselor offered them. If the husband and wife have too much pride, and/or are too stubborn to change, then their marriage will remain the same. Some people are prideful and put their dignity before everything else, others are stubborn and will not change something that they are accustomed to; therefore getting them to change a habitual action will not be possible.
There are many solutions to prevent divorce, and it is possible. Couples need to learn to chose their battles and find any alternative way to solve their differences. Many individuals wish they had tried harder to work through their differences. One goal is to remove the “easy way out” when getting a divorce; thus couples will be forced to work through their problems and the result will be increased numbers of families remaining intact and healthier more stable children.
Divorce can be caused by problems such as drugs, adultery, abuse, and money. The United States is a fast-paced country with little to no time to spend on the basic family values it was founded upon. Jobs are more demanding, kids are spending most of their time with people other than their parents, and the economy drains marriages by causing worry and stress. The foundation upon which marriage was built has been shaken.
A husband and wife do not appear to be a choice that means ?forever? anymore. When a person plans to marry, it should be when they are ready to start a family and begin acting responsibly. All marriages have their ups and downs, and we are prone to argue; but we need to let love conquer hate, not the other way around. The divorce rate is too high and it affects everybody. There should be no reason for a person to give up their marriage for selfish reasons. Arguments between husband and wife occur, of course; but when something is wrong, it should be worked-out peacefully. The meaning of a divorce is betrayal; it?s unfair and the cruelest situation to put your ?loved? one through. For instance, if a man wants to divorce his wife aft...
How can this problem of dissatisfaction be taken care of before it begins to be a broplem within the dyad? Is it even a possibility to alleviate the rising divorce rate? Too many people are getting divorced today, and the institution of marriage is losing its meaning. It is no longer thought of as a bond, or a tie that keeps people together “till death do us part”.
Divorce Divorce takes place after a couple decides not to live together anymore as husband and wife. They sign legal papers that allow them to live single again. Relationships are all about give and take, and to maintain that balance people must be willing to do the work. Today dissolution of marriage is being used as the easy way out when couples no longer agree. When couples are incapable of maintaining a happy marriage, a divorce can be agreed upon. Divorce is more common nowadays, making the divorce rate a continual increase. About 40 to 50 percent of married couples in the United States divorce (Kazdin). In America, there is one divorce every 13 seconds. That’s 6,646 divorces per day, and 46,523 divorce per week (Irvin). The three main causes of divorce is the lack of communication, financial difficulties, and infidelity.

A beautiful bond that connects two people through marriage can suddenly break and turn into a divorce. Couples sometimes face some difficulties throughout their lives, and they have to make decisions. Some handle their problems properly and manage to settle their arguments to prevent a serious decision such as a divorce from happening while others struggle to find a way to solve their issues which make divorce their only option. Divorce is breaking the marriage vows a couple had taken when they first got married. It ends the relationship the couple had together. The causes of divorce vary greatly from couple to another, but many people agree that infidelity, lack of communication, and financial problems are the three main causes of divorce nowadays.
For example, if two person married each other for a period of time, but they have found out there are so many thing that they do not have in common and they could not accept the other person’s habit. They were ended up dislike and feel annoying and unconfortable to live with the other. In this situation, these people could choose to put an end to their marriage by divorce and set each other free. But, they could also choose to find another way to make their marriage work like separated for a short period and try to understand that there is no one in the world in perfect, so they could not expect their match to be exactly what they wanted. So, divorce is not necessary in this situation, because there are still chances that they could make their marriage work for them. But they could decide to divorce if they do not wish to continue their marriage. On the other hand, there are also some marriage that end up sadly like they are being abuse by their husband or wife because they dis-obey or they want to break up. According to Barbara Dafoe Whitehead, “we must assume that divorce is necessary as a remedy for irretrievably broken marriages, especially those that are marred by severe abuse Heh as chronic infidelity, drug addiction, or physical violence.” If by any chance that someone is in this kind of situation, then divorce will be necessary and the best solution for them because they should not live with a bully person for the rest of their life. In my friend situation, she does not went into any kind of abuse in her marriage, but they could not find any common ground in their marriage. They did tried to live with each other for a short period of time, and try to understand and being sympathy to each other. Unfortunatly, their marriage still not turn out well. Finally,
