Memories flood my palate like the sensory effects of having popcorn at a showing, featuring and directed by yours truly. It has the unique ability to grab hold of my emotions like the grip of pain medicine to an addict. The holistic therapy of rhythmic sounds soothes my spirit and I’m saturated with overwhelming feelings that hijack me to a familiar place once upon a time, long ago or transfer me into the future where I meet with my undeveloped hopes and empty dreams. I can transport from present time, to my worst childhood memories all in a moments time. It’s a trigger for pain of an intense loss once felt and yet I’m able to sense the beginning of a dreaded chapter coming to an end. It’s like a measuring stick for wounds healing. Familiar
