From the movie that we had watch which was entitled Honor thy Father, it was a very unexpected, unpredictable and an uncommon type of movie. It was unexpected for I have no any idea on what the movie is all about and it turns out it has a lot of scenes that caught my attention. Scenes where things happened like what it used to and what I got used to be and ending up it didn't happened which is very unusual in movies. The movie is about the real life or what really happens to people which is uncommon for a film. The director, Erik Matti, did a great job in portraying the real life situations in the movie and the usual circumstances of people. Watching the movie, I felt that the atmosphere of the classroom is somehow serious so I guess the movie …show more content…
It escalated from a dull scenes to full emotions type of scenes. After the part when there was someone murdered and the people who invested their money to them became angry and threatened them. That is where everything started to turn down. In the scene that Edgar was being beaten up by the people, I felt very sorry and upset on the situation that they are facing. His wife Kaye was still very faithful with her belief in their church that the Lord will never abandoned them will help them in the challenges that they are facing. Though it is right to have faith in the Lord and let Him be with you always, we must also do our part so we can achieve the goal that we are dreaming or conquer the challenges or problems that we are facing. It was different with Kaye, she let the Lord do everything for her and so the burden was so much for Edgar. There was the part where a stranger picked up their daughter and tried to threaten them by giving them 2 week to pay their debts. At this point the pressure was too much for Edgar can see the desperation with him to overcome the problems they were facing. He did a lot of stuff that seems to be very unnecessary to do but because of their situation he was forced to do it like when he bought a gun from his friend and tried to rob a bank, but in the end he failed. At this part I already get my full attention to the movie and I imagined myself if I were to be in that situation would I

This film is one that has faults, but is also very credible and a major wake-up call for those currently in power to make a change and help improve the schools of America, securing a better future for all.
There are many more examples throughout this movie that can be connected or assessed to the many different concepts that was learned. There are many real-life events and these concepts are important because they allow people to see how different types of people and families deal with stress and problems and it is important not to judge or jump to conclusions and maybe take a step back and take time to consider what others may be going
The movie, “Romeo Must Die”, is an action packed drama that adapts William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” into a more modern perspective with a twist that deviates from the original plot. Han Sing, played by the actor Jet Li, resembles Romeo, where as Trish O’Day, played by the actress Aaliyah, resembles Juliet. Fate causes them to meet when Trish jumps into the taxi Han hi-jacks. As Han is in search of the person that killed his brother, he learns that Trish may have a connection and begins to pursue her.
I truly enjoyed the movie, because of how honest it is about how people struggle, but never give up. It is a story of family and perseverance that is heart wrenching. I would completely endorse this movie and push it to be in the curriculum in the future. My hope is that students continue to over fill your class as you aloud me to do this semester. The movie explains so much of Deaf Culture that the standard population could really use to know. Which is probably why I whish the movie was more common in movie rental places, Hulu and other video cites. It is a fantastic movie with a fantastic message.
This film was very interesting. I enjoyed it because it wasn’t like the other movies that I have seen before in the education department. Ron Clark was the closest one to relate back to “Finding Forrester”. While watching this film there were many outlining factors that were presented throughout the film like poverty, gender roles and class.
... class. This book was actually one of most interesting books I’ve read while I’ve been in college, and this course kept me interested the whole semester. The things it has taught me about the meaning of reading and evaluating other people and their personalities and who they really are. It actually came to mind a couple times, maybe I want to be a psychologist and help people with their problems. It just really amazes me how Perry’s dad can literally be the cause of four innocent lives gone. Throughout reading the book and watching both films, I began better at reading people and observing their personalities not only with the characters in the book but also outside the classroom and in the real world. The fact that everyone has a story and reasons they are the way they are. Perry had a story that no one knew about, and it has just taught me that everyone has one
With so many words making up the content of plays, it is difficult for one, single word to make much of an impact. However, the word ‘honor’ does just that in the play Titus Andronicus. Honor means different things to different people, and this is quite evident in the tragedy that is Titus Andronicus. The definition of honor has changed throughout the history of man. The character for which the play is named, Titus, puts his honor and the honor of Rome before anything else. In the play, honor is used as justification for wrongful actions. There are murders that happen in the name of honor. Honor is also lost by some and taken from others. Although small in size, the word honor plays a large role in Titus Andronicus.
The movie glory is a movie based on real life events that took place during the Civil War. Although a lot of the scenes are inspired on real life events many details are replaced to make the movie more dramatic. The movie glory is based upon the 54th regiment which was the first unit consisting of African American soldiers. This was a very controversial and was an event that the public kept a close eye on.
Throughout the entire film, there are lessons that are being taught. Whether is the central theme of not judging someone by their skin color but by their character or showing the essence of what the meaning of family really is. Through the setting, acting, and relationships shown it all comes together to make the perfect film. I recommend this film be seen by everyone at least once in their lifespan, because the lessons that are depicted in there are valuable. It is the perfect movie to go see with your family and makes you grateful and thankful for everyone that you have in your life. The film brings joy, happiness, tears, laughter and much more. I can truly say that the movie is worth purchasing and viewing.
I believe this movie does a good job incorporating what we have discussed in class in terms of adolescent development. Although the movie is greatly exaggerated and blown up, the movie does emphasize on key factors to the development of an adolescent. Aside from the self-identity and friendship, the film incorporates parental relationships, academics, teacher-student relationships, risky behaviors, and moral development during adolescent
The Godfather is most notably one of the most prolific films of its time. This "gangster" film displayed many transformations of permeating color to give the viewer observable cues in its mise en scene that drew one right into the movie. The dramatic acting set the tone of the film with a score that lifted the viewer right out of their seat in many scenes. The directing and cinematography made The Godfather ahead of its time. The nostalgic feel of family importance and the danger of revenge lets us into the life of the Mafia. Even though no other techniques would have given the viewer a feeling of inside the mob like the mise en scene of the power the godfather held, the characters are reinforced literally and figuratively because the story views the Mafia from the inside out, and the cinematography of the film gives it a dangerous and nostalgic feel.
Amy Chua, author of “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother”, is the subject of debate when it comes to effective parenting styles. She is a self-described “Tiger Mom”, which in short, means that she uses a strict, disciplinary style of parenting that has an emphasis on academics and the classical playing of musical instruments (piano and violin, in this case). Her children are not allowed to attend sleepovers, go on playdates, be in school plays, watch television, and many things that typical American parents let their children participate in (Adapted from "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother" 305). She raises her children to be high-achievers, and anything that falls short of high-achieving will subject her children to punishment or degradation. For
The Witness is based in the Pennsylvania countryside in 1984 where a mother, Rachel, and her son, Samuel, are morning the loss of their husband and father. This film follows the events that led Samuel to help detective John Book track down Officer McFee who committed a brutal murder that Samuel witnessed. This movie was nominated several times for the Best Screenplay and Best Film Editing.
This film really focuses on the characters. Their thoughts, anger, distress, and mistakes become part of your mistakes. This deals with a father’s s priority and how he will achieve that priority by using unethical ways like torturing an innocent man. Bringing up child abduction and torture are
