The article, “Iran’s water crisis the product of decades of bad planning”, by Jason Rezaian, published on July 2, 2014, is an informative and a rather bone-chilling article about Iran's water crisis. In the article,the author outlines and explains many different points by helping the reader to understand more in depth the problem of the article and connecting the different elements throughout the story.These points are also very important because they are what makes the reader understand the background behind the thesis that,“Iran is headed for a water shortage of epic proportions, and little is being done to reverse a decades-long trend that has reduced the country’s water supply to crisis levels.” In my opinion, this article was everything I needed for my research and I …show more content…

Throughout the article,the author argues, Iran uses a lot of water compared to their precipitation level,global climate is not fully what is causing the water crisis, and their population is getting bigger which is making their water supply smaller. Asthe reader explained the evidence behind the main points,the research became very understandable. For example,the reader states that Iran uses 66 gallons of water per day.It may seem like a lot but the author then states that the U.S uses over 106 gallons per day. When reading this fact as the reader it did not seem important and it was just a regular fact about Iran's everyday use.However,after reading deeper into the article I started to read more about how this fact like many others, plays a huge role in Iran's water crisis.
