“Fear the Walking Dead” is set to shake its viewers’ minds when its first episode airs in the U.S. on August 23.
The upcoming AMC television series is a spin-off of the popular zombie show “The Walking Dead.” Showrunner Dave Erickson said Fear the Walking Dead’s first season will be full of thrill and tension, according to Christian Today (CT).
Fear the Walking Dead will show viewers how the zombie apocalypse arrived and the dark mood will persist throughout the series. Fans are expected to be gripped in terror as they try to anticipate what will happen next, the report says.
“There's something wonderful about seeing the landscape of East Los Angeles, yet knowing full well what's coming down the pike,” CT quotes Erickson’s statement to Variety.
Even though George Romero, director of the film, Night of the Living Dead, did not intentionally intend to create racial controversy, the film broke a lot of ground considering the year it was filmed in 1968. By making a black character, Ben, the most intelligent and resourceful of all the white characters, as well as the protagonist, Romero, shattered racist stereotypes in the horror movie genre as well as mainstream film. This was mainly due to the fact that Night of The Living Dead was one of the first films to follow a black protagonist who was filmed in a positive light. Ben’s personality was possibly the most subversive aspect of the whole film. Ben was a brave and quick-witted character who was able to see what needed to get done in order to ensure survival from the zombies. The fact that Ben was portrayed as the most composed character, especially out of the cast of distraught white characters only emphasized his position as the most important character. Without Ben, the other characters would have most likely died. Night of the Living Dead is an iconic horror movie released in 1968 in America. The movie was directed by George Romero and premiered on October 1st of the same year. The movie follows the characters of Barbra and Ben and five other characters trapped in a rustic farmhouse in a rural town in Pennsylvania. The farmhouse is attacked by a large group of non-living human beings which are not named. They have characterized features of a monster and of a corpse. In the onset of the film, the main character Barbra and her brother Johnny drive to a town in Pennsylvania for a customary visit to the father’s grave. When in the cemetery, Barbra and Johnny encounter a peculiar looking man who had been walking around the cemetery. Fear overcomes Barbara as the deranged man walks towards her and proceeds to aggressively attack her. While trying to rescue his sister, Johnny is thrown into a gravestone and succumbs to his demise. Zombies have become very popular due to their depictions of being easy to kill and being communal. Zombie apocalypses are also very relatable due to the fact that they are set in lives similar to our society and seem easy to overcome. Zombies, themselves, can be identified with because we see ourselves when we look at a zombie. Zombies drudge on through the same task of finding human flesh to consume every day just like we drag ourselves to either class or our job in order to sit through another boring lecture or perform the same menial task every day. The walking dead does in fact exist. However, it is not the flesh eating zombie that many think about when hearing the term ‘walking dead.’ Instead, it is a rare and serious mental disorder also known as Cotard’s Syndrome. “In 1880, Jules Cotard (1840-1889) described the syndrome that bears his name as a constellation of false nihilistic beliefs, often in the form of self-negation.” (Ramirez-Bermudez, Aguilar-Venegas, Crail-Melendez, Espinola-Nadurille, Nente & Mendez, 2010) Throughout time there has been many controversies regarding what causes this disease. Cotard’s Syndrome was finally divided into three groups in 1995 as psychotic depression, Cotard’s Syndrome Type I, and Cotard’s Syndrome Type II.
The zombie outbreak had definitely brought Rick and the other character's a challenge to their faith and survival. Rather than waiting for their doom, the two characters, Rick and Daryl press on with the best of their ability. They chose to challenge whatever lies ahead for them, than to sit and wait hopelessly.

Did you know that the word zombies come from African and Haitian people? From the legends regarding voodoo doctors that they believe used to and might still do. Bring back the dead for a short amount of time and turn the to mindless slaves. That will follow their every order with no hesitation. Which is actually like the walkers are doing in the Walking Dead but they weren't raised from the dead. I mean they were but not literally the virus brought them back, not a person. As I was getting ready for bed, I started thinking what it would be like to be in the TV show The Walking Dead? I really hate The Walking Dead, but it seems fun to be in a zombie TV show and it's the only one I really know of. I turned the TV just to see what was on and sure enough The Walking Dead was on. I was a little confused, so I walked towards the TV. I was a little skeptical, I touched the TV and it turned into a vortex and pulled me in.
Episode 14 of season 4 of The Walking Dead describes the death of Lizzie after she murders her sister, Mika. After having survived in the dangerous post-apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead for a long time, Lizzie is still confused over what the “walkers” actually are, to the extent that she refers to them as pets, and even ends up murdering her sister in an attempt to bring her the joy of the life of her perception of a walker. Their caretakers, Carol and Tyreese, decide that Lizzie can no longer be permitted to live when she is such a threat to the people around her. Especially to the baby with them, Judith. However, killing Lizzie may have been a step too far down the wrong path.

What the Declaration of Independence failed to mention was women. This seemed to be a common theme throughout the history of America and is still a problem to this day. Men are constantly being held up on a pedestal, while women are forced to assume the position of looking up to them. Zombieland (2009) tends to take these “old school” ways and sheds a new light on the fact that women too can be equal, if not better than some men.
A zombie apocalypse is absolutely a possibility. When you take a closer look, there are many possibilities to which an apocalypse could happen. Although it may not be as Hollywood or video games have led us all to believe. The whole lumbering, brain-dead corpse thing has become a little overrated now-a-day, at least for me anyway. Today when we think about a zombie apocalypse we think of popular video games or movies released by some truly sick and demented people, who by the way probably have way too much time on their hands.
The Walking Dead, a television show about surviving in the zombie world, is based on the comic book with the same name created by Robert Kirkman. In this show Rick Grimes, a sheriff's deputy, awakes from his coma and finds himself in a hospital. He soon discovers that while he was in a coma the world had become infected, turning humans into flesh-eating zombies later called Walkers by the characters. As Rick sets out to find his family he encounters many other survivors such as Glenn, Daryl, Carl, Maggie, Carol, Sasha, Hershel, Beth, and Michonne, among many others who have died along the way. Rick and the survivors have been through a lot throughout the show, such as having to move from place to place to avoid being eating by walkers. After walking a longs way, they finally find shelter in an old prison where they now live. Although The Walking Dead shows a lot violence, it sends many positive messages to the viewers that teach them about survival, religion and betray and how each of these can be beneficial in the real world
What is Fear? Fear is a reaction in the brain triggered by a stressful stimulus and often triggers physical reactions. This the biological definition of fear, fear however strikes deep within ones psyche; it alters ones life and takes it of controlling all aspects of it. In this case, the fear of death completely takes over ones life and determines what he or she does in their life.
