Behind the Curtain George Orwell once said, “In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. Big Brother is watching you”. This quote by Orwell describes his novel 1984 and conspiracies that question the government today. Orwell talks about a “Big Brother” in his novel, a higher power that manipulates the government and society into believing what they want the people to think. Does this higher power exist in society today? This question haunts many people in society today, others have never questioned or thought about how the government operates. The second plane to crash was Flight 77 which hit the Western façade of the Pentagon. The last hijacked plane to hit Flight 93 which never made it to its destination due to the bravery of passengers who took back the plane, crash landing in a small field just outside of Shanksville, PA, this flight was believed to be headed to Washington, D.C. Three out of the four flights had reached their intended targets striking fear and anger in the eyes of citizens. Osama Bin Laden even before the attacks on 9/11 was one America’s most wanted criminals. Reportedly, Bin Laden spent two weeks in an American hospital in Dubai treated by an American doctor and visited by local CIA agents. How was one of the most wanted criminals able to be treated then leave an American hospital and not be captured? Connections between the Bush and Bin Laden family have been questioned for many years. The connections between the Bush’s and Bin Laden’s become a lot clearer when George Herbert Walker Bush made trips to Saudi Arabia in 1998 and 2000 to visit the Bin Laden family, on the half of a company called the Carlyle Group.
