According to the article, called “The secret of Effective Motivation” by Amy Wrzesniewski and Barry Schwartz (2014) there are two types of motivation; internal and instrumental. As they state, an internal motive occurs when a person wants to do it for the benefit of others, and an instrumental motive occurs when it comes from the self-wishes and for the own benefits. Focusing on meaningful values more than on financial values are points that all of the humanity should aspire. It will be much more obvious to understand whether the motive is internal or instrumental due to a mission statement as a person will be able to distinguish between their priorities and things of secondary importance.
