This quote should show us that greed and money, makes people destroy things that cannot be replaced... for what? The Amazon Rainforest is one of the most fascinating things on this planet, but to this day it is under attack. That’s where people like environmentalists come in. The environmentalists are tyring tTo stop the rampage of the human kind. and tTo give back to something that counts for more than half of the remaining rainforests left in this world. They have destroyed more of the Amazon Rainforest in the last 15 years than 450 years of the European settlers previously. They chop down each tree, homes to innocent animals, with no emotion at all. The worst part is the victims of this unmerciful act have no say, for against our modern technology anything and everything is defenceless. Every year 50,000 species of plants, animals, and insects become extinct because of our own doing. Think about it, that means one and a half acres of the Amazon Rainforest are lost every second, simply because countries, not just developing ones but developed ones as well see them as nothing more than a gigantic matchstick factory. The website called The Current Mass Extinction, predicts that by 2020 little if anyto none of the Amazon Rainforest will be left. In the end it hurts the criminals of these unjustified acts as well. With all of this deforestation of the Amazon it is said that 400 million tons of carbon dioxide is polluted into the air each year. We are cutting down something that stabilizes the air and putting up more chemicals so that our homes have nice hardwood floors that we can say was shipped from Brazil. It houses millions of different species and protects them from the outside world. To be exact around 90% of the plants that survive in the rainforest haven’t even been studied by our own modern technology. Imagine all the cures that could potentially come from this place that we are quickly getting rid of? Taking all of this unneeded land from a needed area only causes more harm to us. It has made Brazil the 6th largest country of emitting gas on this precious planet. In what world should that be ok? We are always talking about global warming and how we can do something to prevent it, but we are the ones making it. Environmentalists have done as much as they can in their power to protect something that we will be needing in the near future. If we don’t do something right now we will regret it, but by then it will be too late. So now I am placing the responsibility on your shoulders. Make a difference to something that has made a difference to you. Help the environmentalists to protect something so pure that we have poisoned. To make a happily ever after come
