Pang! Pang! Pang! Hit! Pang! Pang! Pang! Hit! That’s the sound of fun. That is the sound of shooting people in a game of airsoft. Airsoft is a daily thing for me. It is almost like an exercise. It gets your heart rate going. You have to sprint at times, duck behind cover and dodge bb’s. I love it; it is exciting and fun but sometimes painful. If you are going to play airsoft you need to wear the right clothing items! You are going to need gloves. You can buy professional ones. They will run you between 8-30 dollars. If you do not have the money to buy some, you can make some. You can make really easy half fingered gloves by taking an old pair of winter gloves (preferably thinner ones), and then grab some scissors. Take the scissors and cut the fingers about halfway down, now you have professional gloves. I use Oakley full finger gloves they cost about 20 dollars, but they should last for a long time. In today’s world, the use of airplanes in wars or in everyday life has become a part of how we live as human beings. Removing the air forces of the world is like taking a step back in time when wars were only fought on land or sea. WWI began only eleven short years after the Wright brothers achieved powered flight in 19031 and yet aircrafts were being used for surveillance and eventually combat purposes. It is understood that these aircrafts were primitive, but they laid down the foundation for what we know today as fighter jets. The Fokker Eindecker “revolutionized air combat by successfully employing a synchronized forward -firing machine gun mounted on the engine cowling”2. Because this airplane became the first to successfully use a synchronized machine gun, it allowed its pilots to become the first aerial combat tactitions3.
BANG, BOOM, BLAM,TAT-A-TAT, TAT. My ears are assaulted with noise, my eyes witness squirting blood a soldier is shot. I observe soldiers blown away by bombs. I see blood that saturates an infantry man. I view maimed men and observe limbs with fragmented bone. I witness militia dead on the ground. I listen to screams, grunts and gurgling blood in a man's windpipe. WHOOSH, flame throwers make a path with flames blazing burning men instantaneously. My eyes reveal the emotion that rips through my heart, tears drip down my cheek. I turn my head. I cannot watch a soldier cradle his buddy as he dies.
Boom, Bang, Crack! The sounds of muskets being fired, its ammunition ricocheting off rocks and splintering trees are heard all around. The pungent smell of gun powder stings the nose, and its taste makes the mouth dry and sticky. The battle is still young, but blood soaked uniforms and dead or dying men can already be seen, causing the fear of death to enter many of the soldiers' minds. It is remembered that freedom is what the fight is for, so we must continue to gain independence. The battle has been going on for a short time now, although vision is already obscured from all the smoke and dust in the air. It is becoming increasingly difficult to breathe, with all of these air borne substances entering my lungs. People are still being struck by musket balls for the cries of agony rise above the many guns' explosions. This is how the battle to be known as Bunker Hill began.
There are three main areas of paintball that I will be analyzing. First the way in which a paintball leaves the barrel of a paintball marker. Second the way in which a paintball fly's through the air and lastly how to determine optimum ranges for paintballs.
Richard Connell, the author, does an incredible job of portraying the insane, however experienced hunter, General Zaroff as a man who hunts man for fun. The portrayal of a sophisticated, educated, cultured man with psychopathic tendencies was evident in many different instances. Interesting enough, I discovered that paintballing was actually inspired in part by the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Most_Dangerous_Game), which leaves us to think “Man is the cruelest animal.” (Friedrich Nietzsche).
Wireless voice poles are kept in front of the shooter, so when they are ready for a target they simply call out “Pull”, and a target is thrown. Posture is very important when shooting. Feet are to be placed a shoulder width apart, with feet almost perpendicular to the top of the square. Assuming the shooter is right handed, the right elbow is kept straight out, even with the shoulder, right hand holding the trigger guard and butt of the gun, and left hand holding the stock. Both eyes must be open while shooting for the best accuracy.
I was sitting in the old rickety chair that looked as if it had been there for five years. The smell of gunpowder hung in the morning air as I leaned over the rifle rest. My finger wrapped around the trigger as my eye focused through the scope of my grandfather’s Springfield ’03. I took a deep breath and let half out. My finger tightened on the trigger as I awaited the recoil and crack of the gunpowder igniting. Finally, when my finger’s pull was enough to move the trigger, the gun went off. Moments like this are why I love shooting guns.

As a young boy growing up in northern Michigan I was always obsessed with military aviation. Like many young boys, model aircraft filled my bedroom, everything from P-51 Mustangs and B-17 Flying Fortresses to F-15 Eagles and the beloved F-117 Nighthawk. It was really the latter of these aircraft that has driven my career and life thus far, and it is was the acknowledgement of this aircraft that drove me to love the Air Force.

Owen repeats “only” to build momentum and to truly explain the sounds of the guns. He uses alliteration in “rifles’ rapid rattle” and onomatopoeia in “stuttering” and “rattle” to imitate the harsh and repetitive sounds of rifles. The alliteration creates a sense of the rapidity and frequency of the firing. Owen again personifies the guns, this time by using “stuttering” like the stutter of people. I met a shooting instructor named Jim Porter, he saw my hidden talent for shooting and soon became my coach. I fell in love with sporting clays. Sporting clays to me is so special and very emotional. It has given me a platform to meet people that I would never have met before. Shooting is an art form and it allows me to be creative with my athletic talents. The sport of shooting is all about responsibility, discipline, and focus. Shooting is not just pulling the trigger on a gun, it requires strong mentality. Although many people all over the world have experienced the hunting tradition, there are still many people who have not had the chance to experience the thrill of hunting and the excitement that is involved. There are many situations caused by hunting that can give an individual an unequaled sensation caused by an adrenaline rush and I can relate in many ways from the past years of hunting since I was a child.

I arose quickly, not wanting to be late, dressed hurriedly in my camouflage utilities and raced out of the door to my car. I could not get to the rifle range fast enough. As I was driving, my thoughts raced and my stomach turned as I wondered if I would be able to hit the target. Would the rifle be too heavy? Would I pass the test? Before you hear about Ultimate Frisbee, you should first know the history of the Frisbee. The Frisbie Pie Company sold their pies all over the East Coast, and it just happened that the pie tins were easy to throw around. At Yale, students began to make up games to play with the tins, and started to call them “Frisbees”. The name stuck and tossing the tins around became popular at many East Coast colleges. Several years later, an inventor decided to recreate the Frisbee tin. He wanted to make it out of plastic, which was one of the new post-war materials. He shaped his new disk like a U.F.O., complete with little windows. This was the first real Frisbee, and since then, the design hasn’t changed much.
