Shown or hidden, indoors or outdoors, all around us, air pollution is becoming extremely dangerous. Doctor Thomas Scarborough, who specializes in allergies and immunology, claims that, “[t]he solutions fall into three main categories: controlling the source, ventilation, and air filtration” (1). As of today, the laws and regulations on air pollution not only affect humans, but multiple corporations seem to be suffering as well. Though corporations can suffer from these laws, they are still trying to find ways to improve the environment. To be able to minimize pollution discharge restaurants in New York City companies had to invest in ventilation. Companies had no other choice, it was obligatory. According to previous research, many industries began to lose profit because their consumers were leaving due to their contemporary materials. Consumers were not satisfied with the way the company’s equipment functioned, nor even enjoyed the way their food smelled. Consumers stop patronizing these restaurants. As the companies noticed their profits diminishing, they began to consider that the new laws were going to eventually run them out of business. Even though companies were losing money, they had to contribute their funds on buying new equipment to achieve the requirements of these laws. Depending on the type of law, or how good a company is functioning economically, dispending too much money or trying to liquidate the laws has negative effects on the industries. The contagion in the water is increasing as an outcome of any actions. Hydraulic fracturing, also mentioned as fracking, is one of the top water pollutants’ growth. The growth of hydraulic fracturing lowers the quality of fresh water people consume. After drilling, the water becomes poor in health, and cannot be utilized by anyone. “The use of chemicals has stirred fears of spills and contamination, especially because companies keep some of the chemicals secret,” confirmed Galbraith (1). Companies secretly keep information from the public because they want to prevent the communities from knowing the threatening chemicals the hydraulic fracturing method includes. Companies are aware that the public will be opposed to the hydraulic fracturing. Moreover, if organisms are exhibited in the water after fracking, they are most likely going to have fatal results. The level of toxicity in oil spills also infected a large amount of water, primarily oceans. The spills in the Gulf of Mexico killed many sea animals, and left the people who catch the fish to survive with a few fish to sell and consume. The companies that caused the oil spill are still in the course of trying to improve the filthy water until this day.
