In the articles composed of many different documents all having to do with slavery it shows how enormous the Atlantic slave trade really was and how millions of African Americans were victims. These documents allow us to hear a few stories that the slaves had during slavery and how many of the Europeans controlled the slavery and let it become one of the biggest parts of history today. Europeans let slavery get as big as it did back then because they needed slaves in order to do the work they needed done. The Africans captured the slaves then shipped them to the Europeans where they were then sold by their qualities and the price that the bidders bought them for. In documents two-four it shows how cruel they were to the slaves by kidnapping them, branding them with fire so they couldn’t escape from their owners and basically just wanting the younger slaves rather than the older slaves. The slaves were given no rights and no freedom in what they did. They were strictly there to work. Between documents 15.2 and 15.3 is talks about the business of the Slave Trade and how the slave trade was a horror beyond their imagination. They showed up in boats and as soon as they got to land the Europeans were immediately bidding on them based off of their arm reach, age and if they had any grey hair. A number of African kings took part in the trading. For each enslaved, the African rulers would receive a variety of much needed goods from Europe. These goods included weapons (guns), ammo and other factory made goods. The second part of the triangle exported enslaved Africans. The third part of the triangle was to return the goods to Europe from the Americas. The goods were the products of the slave labor plantations and included cotton, sugar, tobacco, molasses and rum.
