Time is something that every one of us thinks that we have plenty of when we are young and a day seems like it will last forever. But as we get older we find ourselves wishing we had more time to do the things we seem to never have the time for. The problem with this type of thinking is we never find the time, we cannot just wish for more time. The solution may be easier than we think. With just a few minor adjustments to our way of life we are better equipped to manage our time. Managing our time properly can make a big difference in life for the better.
As time goes there is one thing that is constant, and that is that there are twenty-four hours in a day and one hundred sixty-eight hours in a week. The problem is that most of us live in real time. Real time is defined as what a person is doing at that time. It can fly by where an hour can seem like five minutes, such as spending time with a loved one on a walk along a winding tree lined path. One of the main disadvantages of using time management is that you have to allow part of your time in making up a plan to follow. If those plans get sidetracked you feel pressure to get back on the timetable that you have set out to accomplish, thus cutting into other plans. Also being on a schedule you tend to leave the people around you feeling slightly tensed because they don’t know how much time you have allotted for them. Disciplining yourself to follow thru on time management is hard in itself. This is mandatory in order to accomplish whatever goal you have set for yourself. Some of the obstacles to effectively accomplishing time management are; having an unclear objective, the inability to say no, interruptions in our daily lives, stress or fatigue, and the old saying “all work and no play makes Jack a dull
