As the world changes, more and more people are forced to communicate to each other digitally, allowing technology to connect. On the way to move forward, people have discovered that technologies are not neutral rather it is infused with values and different ideas of creators, aim and influence of the users. On 2013 Google released a device which is beyond someone’s imagination called the “Google Glass”. In a conference Graham, T., & Sauter, T. (2013). explains Google glass as “ Google’s ‘Project Glass’ - a wearable computing device to be released this year - to feel out what some of the ontological implications of the imminent integration of augmented reality technologies into modern techno social hybrid societies may be.” The project Google Glass was introduced to the public earlier in the year 2013 which took all the people by surprise. People did not think a device that can be used to take a picture, video, surf the web, text someone or share pictures and videos instantly, not by using a phone, computer but by using a glass. Yes, the future has arrived. Now with this technology further in this essay I will be discussing on can a technology of “Google Glass” exist?, the advantages and disadvantages of the glass and controversies and whether there will be any impact to the people, will there be any possibility that they could be harmful. With this I will be discussing the advantage and disadvantages and the future of “Google glass” and then the key arguments against “Google glass”.

...tion, it can increase violence between people using the glass and people not using it, people does not have any idea what health problems Glass will create, it may increase violations of doctor-patient confidentiality and attorney-client privilege, the glasses could be hacked, artists will be held more accountable for material that “offends.” It may kill off what remains of the movie going experience. It will discourage people from paying attention. It will turn more strangers into stalkers. It will create more cyberbullying and stress. It could make you more willing to believe lies. It will create more needless distraction. It could prevent people from discovering themselves. It could create another place where advertisement takes over our lives. It will create needless competition over who has the most worthwhile life experience. It will make driving dangerous.
Technology is evolving and growing as fast as Moore’s Law has predicted. Every year a new device or process is introduced and legacy devices becomes obsolete. Twenty years ago, no one ever thought that foldable and paper screens would be even feasible. Today, although it isn’t a consumer product yet, foldable and paper screens are a reality. The topic of technology and our society has become a very controversial subject today. Many people believe that technology is an essential component of our modern world, helping us to improve communication from farther distances as well as giving us easy access to important information. On the other hand, there is the opinion that too much technology is affecting social interactions and our basic development. “Technology…is a queer thing, it brings you great gifts with one hand, and stabs you in the back with the other.” (Carrie Snow.) The CBC Documentary “Are We Digital Dummies” displayed the pros and cons when it comes to modern technology that we use in the western world everyday.
There is no doubt that movies entertain a person. However, over sexualized movies have the capability of poisoning minds which are easily shapeable-for example Fifty shades of gray. Children are told not to view it, however that does nothing to stop the viewing of the movie. Not only does it corrupt young minds it hands them unlimited access to the findings of adult
One example is the parlor walls that Guy Montag’s wife, Mildred, constantly watches. All she does is watch big screen TV’s so much so that she is brainwashed by the messages she sees. This is similar to today’s world as TV screens are getting bigger and bigger, and covering entire walls might not be too far off in the future. Many movies today are not made with meaningful content, but rather focus on a visual and mental assault of loud, colorful, meaningless images with idiotic plots aimed at the sole purpose of making money.
Censorship influences our lives in a wide range of ways, it influences the music we listen to, the films we watch, the books we read, and numerous different parts of our lives. There has been open argumentation throughout the years whether censorship is influential and worth the contention between various points of views which pops up the question of should movies be censored? The answer of many people would be no. However, many standpoints diverge given that censorship improves our reality in the light of the making people more courteous.
While Price does make a persuasive argument I cannot agree with the theme of his commentary. I have been a fervent viewer of television and films for years on end. Admittedly, much of what I watch on television qualifies as escapism or mere entertainment. I do not have a high degree of respect for the medium; however my love and admiration of film is intense. One could easily dismiss movies as superficial, unnecessarily violent spectacles, although such a viewpoint is distressingly pessimistic and myopic. In a given year, several films are released which have long-lasting effects on large numbers of individuals. These pictures speak to us as people and convey messages that are timely and timeless. Words are powerful, but visual images are overwhelming.
“…in the next few years, humanity's going to go through a shift… We're going to start putting an entire layer of digital information on the real world” (Gribetz, 2016). In his recent TED Talk,” Meron Gribetz encourages his audience to consider how such technology could transform the reality that we call the human experience by referencing augmented reality (Gribetz, 2016). Until the summer of 2016, augmented reality did not have a recognizable role in our lives. Then, came Pokémon Go, a game that gave many people their first notable, combined experiences of augmented reality and telepresence on their smartphones.
People all around agree that technology is changing how we think, but is it changing us for the better? Clive Thompson definitely thinks so and this book is his collection of why that is. As an avid fiction reader I wasn’t sure this book would captivate me, but the 352 pages seemingly flew past me. The book is a whirlwind of interesting ideas, captivating people, and fascinating thoughts on how technology is changing how we work and think.
Since the Industrial Revolution, technology has become an essential tool in human life. Technology impacted lives in society by offering a way to “multitask” by using two or more technological devices. Technology and internet offers the facility to do homework faster through Google, while listening to music on Pandora or YouTube. Sometimes, you can even talk on the phone while you listen to music and do homework. All you need in order to multitask is to have all the technological devices needed. Many people consider technology as a positive change in our lives, because of the facilities it offers us. However, many other persons, like Christine Rosen, think that technology instead of improving our lives, it has only changed it negatively. Technology, in fact has provided us with many facilities, however such facilities are affecting our interactions with the physical space.
Throughout the Renaissance, the Reformation, the Enlightenment, and the Industrial Revolution, technology has changed the world, conforming it into the techno-savvy world of modern times. While technology can cause slight problems, like in the example about the Next Generation identification, the possibilities of technology are continuously changing for the better. The everyday items of modern society were simply fiction several decades ago. While technology is used to complete tasks in fractions of the time, heal epidemics, and open doors of possibilities never dreamed achievable, this technology is only a beneficial resource to society if used with true intentions.

There is no denying the ambivalence that surrounds modern technology. In a world where apathy is uncommon, people could debate for days about whether technology is a blessing or a curse. But their deliberations are futile. Even if they came to a consensus, would it matter? Humans will never stop using technology, even if it is discovered that it is detracting greatly from their lives; they are willing to accept both the negative and positive consequences that come along with using it.
According to “A Day Made of Glass” advertising video by Corning, the clip represents the kind of future that applies technology in everywhere to make the friendlier world to people because the convenience even from a small task has a huge impact on us.
The standard 21 year old adults have exchanged 250 thousand emails, spent 5 thousand hours video gaming and 10 thousand hours using their mobile devices (Lei, 2009). When people hear the word technology, they think of microwaves, televisions, cars, NASA, different types and transportation and more. For all that, technology has occurred long ahead these discoveries. Technology is an arguable matter amongst people. .In the old days, people lived an extremely simple life without technology. They used candles to light their houses and lanterns at the dark to travel, they used fire to cook and used newspapers and mail to share news. On the other hand, technology has seized an important place in our society. People are living in a stage of progressive technology. They are using all natural reserves applicable for making their lives better and easier. The society cannot picture life without electricity since it allows them to live through their everyday life. This paper argues that technology positively impacts people’s lives.
