Before America as a nation and people were formed, many profound events through American history molded the ideology on how we live our everyday lives and was influenced by the successes of history as well as the failures. In the era of 1420 to the 1900’s industry and inventions significantly influenced the creation of America, which brought about easier ways to complete task and the formation of more efficient ways to create a source of income.
We are first met with easier and more efficient way to complete task. This concept has been around since 1420 and has evolved through the 1900’s. Firstly there is Christopher Columbus reaching the Americas in 1492. This opened the gate for gave way to other European colonies to be created like Roanoke and also created the way for Spanish adventures like Vasco Núñez de Balboa who crossed the Isthmus of Panama to the Pacific Ocean and in 1517 and made contact with the Aztec empire. (“Out of Many AP Edition” 40) Along with de Balboa, Columbus also inspired Hernán Cortés who over threw the Aztec empire within two years. (“Out of Many AP Edition” 40) Columbus’ success wasn’t all on his own, he utilized a caravel-based ship called the Niña that allowed him to travel farther and faster then any ship of his time. The caravel ship wassponsored by King Henry “the Navigator” also allowed for the invasion of the Americas by other adventurers after Columbus’ time. After Columbus passed away. His successors invented an agreement called the encomienda in which native Indians were compelled to help Spanish lords and in return the Spanish were to protect the Indian lands. ... not all conflict included death and destruction some, like the dispute between the Old lights and New lights which showed solving problems in a non-violent way. British Parliament’s creation of the Declaratory Act, which was a law, passed in 1776 that allowed Parliament to legislate for the colonies in everyday activities, this created tension between the American colonist and Britain which resulted in the soon to come American Revolution. There was also the use of the American system created by Eli Whitney in 1798 that helped advance war through the use of interchangeable parts and would contribute in enormous death tolls from the Civil War.
Conflict has forever been in human history and will undoubtedly stay in human history. Conflict has evolved during the period of 1700’s to the 1900’s and was used to settle disagreements and ultimately advanced war as a whole.
