ACPA Ambassador Application
1. Why are you applying to be an Ambassador? What do you hope to get out of this experience?
I am applying to be an ACPA Ambassador to become a liaison between Clemson University and ACPA. I’m also applying because Dr. Havice (our student affairs department head) felt I would be great fit as an Ambassador representing Clemson University. This same sentiment was echoed by another professor in our leadership department here at Clemson.
If I am selected as an Ambassador, I hope this role will afford me the opportunity to create connections between the Clemson and the ACPA community; both on a regional and national level. Moreover, I hope this experience will provide me networking opportunities with other students with career aspirations in the student affairs arena. I also envision this role providing me a platform to foster better communication between the students in my PhD program and the students in Clemson’s student affairs master’s program.
2. How would you work to connect ACPA with other graduate students and new professionals at your institution?
In order to connect ACPA with other students and new professionals here at Clemson, I would first create a listserv that included all students in our student affairs program and our higher education PhD program. Additionally, I would include new student affairs professionals as well. This listserv would be used to send out weekly or bi-weekly communication to ensure that information from ACPA was being funneled to Clemson University. Secondly, I would make sure everyone on my campus understood the vision and mission of ACPA, along with understanding the importance of joining the association. Moreover, I would make sure other graduate students and ne...

...f committee/listserv/network? If yes, are you a member or able to solicit and disseminate information to this group? If no, would you be willing to start one?
Yes, Clemson has a listserv for all PhD students in the educational leadership department, but this listserv does not include the master’s program students in student affairs. As it stands now, there is very little communication between the two programs. I am a member of the PhD listserv, I could use the list serve as a tool to disseminate information as an ACPA Ambassador. However, I think the benefits of creating a new listserv are far greater. In doing so, I could target all students in the student affairs program/students with aspirations of working in student affairs in the doctoral program, along with new student affairs professionals here at Clemson. This method would be more strategic in my opinion.
I am writing to express my strong interest in being a member of Alpha Omicron chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi. I am currently a sophomore at Syracuse University, and will be graduating in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Global Political Economy.
There is always the symposium which is a good place to get your name out and make connections.
The mission statement provided, effectively addresses the concerns of the community as well as the ultimate goal for the Black Student Union. The concern of just being a group on campus but to also have a voice and feel as if we belong as well as learn about who we are. Hence, the ultimate goal would be to collectively strategize a way on how to be affective on campus maintaining the philosophy of the each one teach one
The purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha is to promote sisterhood in colleges to assure a bond between college women, and the sorority leads by being an example for other college women to follow. Alpha Kappa Alpha also promotes higher education and positive self-esteem to younger women. Alpha Kappa Alpha also gives back to the community in community service that could range from educating our women on relevant topics to just lending a hand in the community. I want to contribute to this purpose at Mississippi State University and back in my hometown.
For my Cultural Plunge, I participated with Project Excell (Extending College Education for Lifelong Learning). This is a group that meets on campus, in the union, every Saturday morning from 9:00-11:00 AM. Each participant has a developmental disability and they come from various places around Manhattan. Project Excell offers around 4 different classes for the participants to choose from, which range from dancing/theatre to the history of Nigeria. After completing a “session,” the participants go through a graduation ceremony and then begin a different type of class for the next few weeks. I joined this group as a student ambassador, who assists the classroom teachers while building relationships with and tending to the needs of the participants.
As a member, I engage in mentoring programs for school aged students in my community. I interact and support other individuals in achieving goals to address social challenges. I am also active in other initiatives

To state that I am to a great degree intrigued by being part of your association, as the following Masters level understudy, would be an understatement. This Administrative Residency Program opportunity is such an immense blessing. My encased resume demonstrates my ability to provide efficient customer service and communicate clearly and objectively both verbally and in writing. I finally went around speaking with various individuals in my organization to gather their thoughts of the AGCRA. The most frequent comment by these individuals was, "What does AGCRA have to offer me besides the 1775 three times a year for my dues?" I would like to attempt to answer and persuade members of the AG I HR community to join their local chapter.

It is a tremendous honor to apply to American University’s School of International Service, Master of International Service program with a concentration in Global Security. American University has resonated with me since a young age, when I first heard John F. Kennedy eloquently deliver his Strategy for Peace speech. His encouraging words of peace and prosperity have profoundly affected my life, and inspired me to pursue a higher education in International Relations. Additionally, JFK’s speech and the many others at American University prompted me to research the school and its rich history further. My research on American University has only impressed me. I believe I would be a significant contributor to American University due to my professional
My passion to advocate on behalf of impoverished communities combined with my goal to improve the systems and the institutions that govern our lives and societies makes me incredibly excited to apply for the MS in Urban Policy and Leadership program.
Since each new SGA administration requires a different set of credentials and standards, we are still unsure exactly what will be required of us. However, in previous years, starting a new club has required a faculty adviser as well as 10 committed members. We recruited members by reaching out to each of our groups as well as one other past group and received five interested responses, which makes seven including ourselves. In the fall, Ben has offered to reach out to all trip alumna to gain more interest for the club. The goals of the club would be to bring students from previous alternative break trips to Natuwa together to help better the program, make Ramapo students time in Natuwa more beneficial, and prepare new students to attend Natuwa on their trips. Having a club related to Natuwa on campus would allow us to host activities such as seminars and fundraising tables to raise awareness and educate people about the struggles facing the sanctuary. With the support of Ben Levy, we will be able to contact various departments around campus to ask for resources for a possible research lab as well as suggest class projects centered around improving
My participation in the program at this time would surely be significant in my journey of personal and professional development. It would be based on my understanding of leadership through my past work experience. My interest in international affairs was sparked during my exchange programs. I represented Pakistan, at various international events like Youth Assembly at the United Nations, Canadian Red Cross Power of Humanity Gala and the U.S. Department of state granted me Community College Initiative Program Scholarship to study, and participate in volunteer activities. I focus on the topics of international conflict resolution, peace operations in fragile areas and have a strong passion for leadership programs, and development. I intend to specialize in security and peace building track of the program along with courses in international law. I am especially excited about taking Natural resources and armed conflicts under international law and History and politics of
