i-AI: A World with Artificial Intelligence When people hear Artificial Intelligence (AI), they correlate it to pop-culture. Movies like Terminators and Eagle Eye are what have created knowledge and opinion about AI, but in reality AI is just a program that has the ability to learn and think for itself. AI in a simple form is lines of code, which through binary instructions of “yes” or “no,” learn real world situations. No mechanical humanoid bodies go with them, just a computer’s input and output devises. Every day we interact with A.I.’s, like Siri, Xbox, and even Google’s advertisement features. Ford raises the question; why would we design and build a machine that is substantially better than any one person, then give it potential access to most of the world’s WMDs and information about every single person on earth? The potential destruction could be horrendous. A quantum computer would be able to solve the problem of computation because the way it reads things is inherently different than everyday computers. Current computers read in binary, 1’s and 0’s that are received by high and low volts. Whereas quantum computers use quantum physics to read its information. This is important because this new technology maybe the stepping stone for fully intelligent systems. Roy Balleste explains in his article “The Future of Artificial Intelligence in Your Virtual Libraries” that because these intelligent systems are becoming more and more common, using this technology in a class room setting could create a better working environment and most of all make going to the library

The connections between other hikers and himself helped in the explanation of McCandless’s rational actions. Krakauer is able to make McCandless look like a normal person, but unique from this generation. In order for Krakauer to make Christopher McCandless not look like a crazy person, but a special person, I will analyze the persuading style that Krakauer used in Into the Wild that made us believe McCandless was a regular young adult.
