Famous for being one of the few people to greatly influence the twentieth century, Henry Ford was an innovator with a vision for the future. With his astounding work on transforming the automobile from just a simple invention into a great innovation that people to this day still buy and use, he shaped the twentieth century to a great extent. He was an American industrialist who founded the Ford Motor Company in the early nineteen hundreds. Ever since Ford was a young boy he has always seemed to have an interest in machines. He loved to tamper with machinery and other simple mechanisms. His first job was in a machine shop in Detroit which inspired him to experiment with machines and learn how they work. He learned to fix things like watches by trial-and-error and no matter what he did not give up when trying to learn how to fix things. He was one determined young man who worked hard and turned out to be a great leader with a very creative and imaginative mind. By teaching himself how to put a simple wrist watch together, he was able to use his newly found knowledge to move on to designing machines such as full sized steam engines. A few men who ran the steam engines helped to expand Ford’s knowledge of the engines by teaching him how they operated. Born on his father’s farm in Greenfield Township, which is known today as Dearborn, Michigan on July 30th in 1893, Ford grew up helping his father work on his farm. Ford would have worked as a farmer his whole life just as his father did if it were not for his interest and fascination in machines. He followed his dreams and started working as an apprentice at the Michigan Car Company in Detroit in his young adult years. This machine shop built and sold railroad cars which... ... middle of paper ... ...on. He established numerous schools all over America to ensure that children were properly educated on technological advancements and were able to learn by doing hands on activities. He wanted kids to be able to learn by trial-and-error just as he did, teaching them to never give up no matter how many tries it takes. These schools would allow children to use imagination and creativity which America needed more of. Without Ford’s determination and willingness, America would not be the way it is today. Henry Ford impacted the American society so greatly that it remains forever changed. To this day people all over the world use cars daily. And although Ford was not the first person to invent the car or the assembly line, he improved them to a great extent Works Cited "The Life of Henry Ford." The Life of Henry Ford. Henry Ford was born in 1863 on a farm in Dearborn. He showed little interest in farming, but he wanted to get involved in mechanical devices instead. When Henry was 16 he left his parents farm, and moved to Detroit. He acquired a job as a mechanical apprentice. He had the job for three years before returning to Dearborn. In 1888, he married his wife, Clara Bryant, and he ran a sawmill to support the two of them. Three years later he worked as a mechanical engineer in the Edison Illuminating Company in Detroit. In 1893,

In the end it's clear that Henry Ford did our country a very big survase and he did the right thing. Sticking with his ideas and standing by them the whole time and fighting for them. And coming out on top.
It is significant to say Henry Ford had ability as an engineer to take projects apart and come with a solution. The implementation of the moving assembly line alone was not enough to compete against a constant changing environment. It was Henry Ford vision of minimizing cost and careful planning that allowed him to compete against his own self-mechanism of only use common proven designs and listen to other ideas when necessary.
A more personal study of the Ford family and the contraversy surrounding the success of the Ford Motor Company.
Henry Ford was a genius in many aspects of our everyday life. He changed industry, production, and everybody's lifestyle. Many people know about him inventing some of the first automobiles, but what came out of it for America was a new encouragement for technology and an easier lifestyle for the average American replacing the popular railroad system.
Since the 1920s, when the automobile started in America, the amount of fuel consumption and pollution has spiked tremendously. Today almost every family in America owns an automobile, whether it is used for going to work, school or even just for pleasure; millions of vehicles get used every day. Henry Ford changed the lives of everybody in America by introducing the Model T in the 1920s. Without him there is a possibility that people could still be riding in horse and buggies. By starting the auto industry, he sparked the idea of more travel and even bigger cities because people that lived in rural communities were now able to go to town more than once a month to get supplies. There were many of things that Henry Ford did by making automobiles in America and by inventing the assembly line. He created more jobs by building factories to produce the cheap and affordable Model T. The automobile industry has made a huge impact on the life of everyday Americans.
In Helbroner & Singer, Mr. Ford is discussed a great deal in chapter 10 Workers and Work. It is fitting that he be discussed in that chapter, due to the hard workers mentality he maintained and his actions concerning his position on the prices of his cars to fit the wages of his workers. H&S describes one of his greatest contributions as being the creation of the assembly line. This creation as H&S says, ^ deliberately speeded up the pace of work as machinery determined the pace of labor^. It also says, ^ the character of work was changed.^ B. Historical Interpretation 1. The author gives a somewhat normal account of Mr. Ford^s life, by normal

In 1908, Henry Ford forever changed the world with his Model T. Ford was known as a revolutionary person for not only making the automobile inexpensive but also for teaching workers proper skills and paying them steady wages. (Henry Ford Bio, 1) Only a mere six years later, Ford changed the world again with his invention of the moving assembly line in 1914. With the modern assembly line he was now able to mass produce his Model T. Nearly everything mass produced in the world is assembled on an assembly line thanks to Ford’s 100 year old idea. Not only did Ford make life easier for civilians by giving them affordable access to
on October of 1908 Henry Ford proclaimed “...I will build a motor car for the great multitude...,” (Steven C. Stanford). To Ford, this meant that an average American worker would be able to afford the automobile, with no need of a chauffeur conversant to its mechanics. Although many believed, that the idea of an Average american, being able to afford and operate an automobile was absurd, Ford was determined to provide for the “...great multitude…”.Out of this determination, Ford developed the Model T, and the assembly line. Two innovations that “...Revolutionized American Society and Modeled the world we live in today…-Charles, E. “...My Forty Years with Ford…” (1956);
In 1888 Ford got married to Clara Ala Bryant and had a child. He was forced to go back to working on the farm to support his wife and son. After three years of pure farm work he was given the opportunity to work for the Edison Illuminating Company. This company was set up to give electricity to companies primarily set up in New York. Henry Ford was born near Dearborn, Michigan, on July 30, 1863. His family had nothing to do with the automobile, they were simple farmers. Henry lived on the farm that was run by his father who was an Irish man, and his mother who was Dutch, his mother died when he was 12. After his mother death he helped out around the family farm in summer and in winter attended a one-room school. From the young age he was fascinating my moving mechanical things. Form the young age he was fascinated by watches and clocks. He went around the countryside doing repair work without pay, for him all mattered was to play with the machinery of the watch. From his personal experience on the farm he was fascinated my farm machines that reduced the drudgery of farm chores. We can notice there was a lot of a kid in him, and to go around or making his chores easier he invented his own farm machines. His fascination with machines grew as he grew older. At the age of thirteen, for the first time he saw a coal-fired steam engine that was rolling along a long rural road. From that point he grew more fascinated about machines that moved about a roads without any manpower. At the age of sixteen, and against the wishes of his father, he left the home farm for Detroit, where he found work as a mechanic’s apprentice. He was faced with low paying jobs. Working for $2.50 in mechanics shop then moved to watchmaker were he worked for four hours and was paid $2 a week. Henry Ford was one of the most important and influential inventors and businessmen in the short history of America. He revolutionized the business world and he changed forever the efficiency of factories around the world. One of the reasons that Henry Ford can be considered such an important man is that his ideas and concepts are still used today. Boron on July 30, in the year of 1863, Henry Ford was the oldest child of the family. His parents, William and Mary Ford, were “prosperous farmers” in his hometown of Dearborn. While they we’re well off for farmers, Ford certainly wasn’t spoiled and fed from silver spoons. Ford was just like any other typical young boy during the rural nineteenth century. From early on there we’re signs that Henry was going to be something more than a farmer. He looked with interest upon the machinery that his father and himself used for their farming, and looked with disdain at the rigorous chores of a farmer. In the year 1879, Henry being a meager 16 years old, he moved to the city of Detroit where he would work as an apprentice machinist. Henry would remain in Detroit working and learning about all varieties of machines. Although he occasionally came back to visit Dearborn, he mostly stayed in Detroit, picking up more and more valuable knowledge. This apprenticeship allowed him to work in the factories of Detroit and learn what a hard working blue-collar job was like. When he did return to Dearborn he was always tearing apart and rebuilding his fathers machines, along with the dreaded farm chores. Henry Ford was a hard worker and that was proven by him getting fired from one of his jobs in Detroit because the older employees we’re mad at him because he was finishing his repairs in a half hour rather than the usual five hours. Clara Bryant would represent the next step in now twenty-five year old Henry Ford’s life. The two lovers we’re married in 1888 and would endure good times as well as bad. In order to support his new wife Henry was forced to work the land as he ran a sawmill that was given to him by his father. His father actually attempted to bribe Henry to stay in the farming business as he gave him the land only under the condition that he would continue on as a farmer.
