I remember when I was in 2nd grade I got to see a rocket go off on my birthday. You see my grandpa used to work for BALL Aerospace. He help on lots of rockets and space stations. Well it just happened that their was a rocket that was going to go off near my birthday. We had to go to California to see the rocket go off. It just so happened that the weather kept pushing it back until my birthday. The weather was so bad there and there was so much to do before it went off. We had to make sure the weather was right and that all the mechanics in the rocket were right and we also had to go to all of these meetings and lectures about the rocket. Well when my birthday came around the weather was just right that the rocket could go off. I had to get …show more content…
But there's one specific thing that makes me proud and that is good grades.I understand that I keep moving up grades and the work we have to do is harder like this essay but I like to get good grades. But as I grow up I realize that i'm not always going to have the best grades but i'm always going to try to get the best grades. I know my parents will always want me to do the best on everything. That includes football, baseball, and school. Good grades make me proud because I know there a sign of hard work for everything. I think grades help you drive to get better in life and they sorta show you something. At least that's what I think about grades. And that's why I will always try to get the best grades so can be …show more content…
Now I know what you're thinking that it couldn't be that bad. Ohhhh boy it was horrible. So let me begin with it was a late night and my dad was getting hungry and my mom had just made a thing full of onion dip. He went to the fridge and he found the onion dip and started munching with some potato chips. And at this moment my mom had gone to bed and we were all tucked in and everything well he was still up munching on that onion dip. Well at about 1:00 am I wake up and go get some water. Well as I was walking down the stairs I get a funny taste in my mouth. And at this point i'm drinking my water and then I go to bed again. Well I wake up in the morning and that smell was still there. So I wake into my mom and dad's room and I ask “mom what's that taste?” And my mom said well that's your dad stirring up some nasty farts.” And then I said “Are you kidding me I can taste that mom. That's horrible.” And well then my dad wakes up to get ready to go to work. And he says “What's everyone doing in here?” And my mom says “Because you stunk up the whole house with your butt.” So at this point were behind schedule to get to school. And so we got some febreeze and sprayed it everywhere and headed off to school. So when we all got home we walked in the door and it smells like farts again. So the fart odor overpowered the febreze smell and we didn't know what to do. So we opened
“Education is not the preparation for life; education is life itself.” - John Dewey. Every year, as we enter a new grade, new challenges approach us. Eighth grade is no exception., and will be very different from 7th grade. As I enter my eighth grade school year, I will be bombarded with a variety of new experiences and challenges such as buddies, academics, and being prepared for high school. One of the most important tasks that is thrust onto me is buddies.
Imagine if East Jordan high school offered several elective and AP classes to students. Imagine how it could benefit the students of East Jordan Public schools. It would offer much more to students. East Jordan high school use to have many elective classes like: Forensics, Environmental sciences, Creative writing, honors biology, and advance writing, but now the high school does not offer enough elective and AP classes. East Jordan high school must add more classes because they help with schedules, college, and preparedness.
Later that evening, as all kids do at some point on the Fourth, my friends and I left the festivities to find some fun. We were not being particularly destructive, yet there was a hint of malicious spirit in our laughter. Walking through the neighborhood, we would shoot rockets at passers-by, houses, and even each other. This half malicious fun continued for several hours, until darkness fell completely, while we waited, not knowing what we were waiting for, very tense and excited. Then the unexpected happened, and when it did, it did so with a shot.
First of all, grades. Grades are the thing that has everyone, stressed out and overwhelmed. I'm one of those type of people. I always pushed to get A's and B's. Even in my hardest classes like algebra 2 and chemistry that really pushed me. Where I had my moments where I didn't try to push myself to my full potential. But, all in all I can ever ask of myself is that I tried my best to get the best grades possible.
As I walked to school with my lunch that was in a plastic bag. Once we got into school and got in the building my teacher Mr. Williams took attendance and five minutes later we turned around and got on the bus. It was windy and there were leaves blowing all over the place. Last year my 5th grade at John Stewart elementary school was going to Leroy Oakes in St. Charles for team building. It was a fall day and it was chilly. I had my drawstring on my back with my lunch and had three coats on. We turned onto a road called Dean Street and it was bordered by grass. I saw the Leroy Oaks sign, and my bus went over a speed bump that threw my class off balance. After awhile my class off the bus with a skip and a jump in my step. Then I was super excited that our
The process of looking for a job in my eyes is getting online and going directly to Craigslist.com or Monster.com. I thought that’s how everyone does it. The journey an actor or actress goes through is much more grueling then I could ever imagine, their hustle is ongoing and sometimes crushing when they don’t land parts. I normally apply for a job that I am already experienced in, a job that does not need much training, just direction. Actors and actresses are doing similar things however their learning curve is a bit different. They have a lot of options available to get them ready for any kind of opportunity that may be available.
I always try my hardest in every subject. I take the responsibility of my classes extremely seriously because I consider schoolwork to be my top priority. I also have made the honor roll multiple times. I believe that all my hard work and dedication has paid off as I am nominated for the National Honors Society. Along with responsibility of school, I also have the responsibility of fulfilling my parent’s dreams. I have seen my parents work hard their entire life so they could to make my future better. Their dream is to see me becomes a doctor one day. Ever since high school started, I put forth my best effort to succeed in the future and hopefully make their dream come true. The responsibilities given to me by my teachers and parents have pushed me to keep on working and get things done on time. As I live up to more and more my responsibilities and promises, I have gained the trust of my parents, teacher, and friends. I think for a person to be truly be successful, honestly is important in academics and other areas of life along with dedication to accomplish your
I have learned in my 8th grade experience that working hard is key to passing classes. Not only do you have to work hard, but you have to work smart. You need to be able to complete your work on time and correctly. If you can do this in 8th grade, then you should have a blast.
As a seventh grade student, I took a science course because it was required. At first I was scared about how well I would do and if I would get a good grade throughout the year. When the school year started, I met my teacher and he seemed really nice and he turned out to be an awesome teacher. I excelled in my science seven class and overthrew my fear of getting poor grades. My seventh grade year was the year I determined what I wanted to go to college for and that would be life science education. As I moved up the scale throughout high school I became a better student, a better athlete, and a better leader. I had the support of my family, my teachers and my friends. This helped me achieve the major goals I had set out for myself.
In my 6th and 8th grade history classes I learned about specific dates in history and events, important people. More specific to 6th grade we learned about history’s mistakes but how we can make sure they aren’t repeated. For example, we learned about the holocaust but at the same time we learned the difference between an upstander and bystander, how to be an upstander, and how people during the holocaust filled those roles. In 7th grade history, we learned about current events in the world, how they connected to each other, and how they affected our society.
On that fateful day in March, I was a couple months shy of my third birthday. My family and I lived in New Mexico at the time and were renting a house with an outdoor in-ground pool. The day was beautiful. I was outside with my oldest sister Rachel and my father. Rachel was diligently reading curled up on a bench that sat against the house, and my father was mowing the backyard. My mother and my other sister were in the house. Off to one side of the house there was a group of large bushes. I was playing over there with one of her large cooking pots, off in my own little world. At one point while amusing and en...
My biggest accomplishment in school is when I graduated high school early despite what others said. I decided that public high school was not for me, because of all of the distractions I had. So I begged my mom to transfer me to butterflied high school. I went one time a week to meet with my teacher were I turned in all my homework and took my tests. I feel that going
I jumped out of the car with my two sisters and ran to the bathroom. When we left the bathroom, we walked back to the car. We saw that our dad was still putting gas in the car, so we went into the store to buy some sweets. I bought “warheads” that said extremely sour, and a bag of chips called “baked with fire” that looked like they would taste really hot. When we purchased our food, we walked back to the car. As soon as we started driving, I opened my bag of chips. I was so scared that they would be extremely hot. For that reason, I also bought a bottle of water. I opened it before I took a bite out of the chip. Luckily, they were not hot at all! I grabbed my sour candy and tasted it. My face changed so quickly; that I started to squint my eyes and point my lips. I could not take another bite of it because it was really sour! Eventually, I was not hungry anymore. Probably because I ate my whole bag of chips and a sandwich. When I finished eating, I was feeling exhausted, so I took a long nap. I woke up, and dad told me that we only needed to drive for one more hour. While we were driving through town, we saw a row of trees on fire! It was so smoky that we could barely see the street we were driving on. I felt scared for life and terrified that we might crash. After a few more minutes of driving, the smoke cleared up and we could see again. Finally, the hour passed and we arrived in California. Mrs.
perfect grades to be satisfied, and so I'm always working as hard as I can. It
My mom was incarcerated during the time so I lived with my Aunt Pompom. Aunt Pompom never let me and my cousins wake up late for school and if we did, we were driven. Coincidentally on this day both my cousin Zay and I over slept. So we jump up frantically and start putting on our clothes. In the mist of putting on my clothes I come on my menstrual cycle a week before it is supposed to come on. Then, to top that off when we tried to get my aunt up and she told us “yall over sleeping ass better walk”. She did not care if it was my birthday or not. So sadly Zay and I start walking and little did I know nature was also against me, it started to drizzle. I could feel every drip that dropped on me, I just knew I would smell like a wet dog once I got to school. The feelings I had walking were unimaginable I could have just clasped to the ground right then and there because there was no way my day could be enlightened it been ruined from the moment I
