The Avocado's Journey from Mexico to the U.S.

Avocado is originated in southern Mexico before coming to California in 19th century. In the past Avocado was introduced by Judge RB, Ord of Santa Barbara when he brought a tree from Mexico. Moreover, “Avocados were unfamiliar to most Americans until the mid-1900s, when growers of the subtropical fruit successfully convinced many Americans to try it”. More and more farmers as well as growers in California in 1900s saw the potential of Avocado for commercial activities and since then, many Avocados have been hunted for its varieties.
In English, Avocado is an Alligator Pear because it has a green skin and a pear- like shape. It is the genus of Persea in the Lauraceae family. They are cultivated in tropical areas where the climates are mostly hot throughout the world. It has become a successful cash crop in California

The first reason why we should name Avocado as the state fruit of California is cultivation.
California is the third largest state in the US in terms of area after Alaska and Texas. Its climate are mostly cool, rainy in the winter and hot, dry in the summer. Those climate conditions are very suitable for avocado which specifies as a dense and green tree. In California, avocado can easily reach its flushes due to the warm and sunny weather.
Many individual thought that Avocado is vegetable, it is a fruit instead. Avocado is a fruit containing many nutrition such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, etc, which is really good for our health. In addition, it contains no sodium and cholesterol- the factors causing high blood pressure

...this roll begins in 1960s Los Angeles where a lot of Japanese immigrants reside. The traditional sushi roll does not have any avocados, instead it only has rice, seaweed and tuna. At that time, there was a Japanese chef - Ichiro Mashita, substituted tuna fish in their roll by avocado due to its texture was perfect for replacing tuna. The roll created a new way of food experience by combining California ingredient ( Avocado) and Asian food. In addition, Sushi as well as the roll of California popularize throughout the US. Similarly, there are Avocado in other foods also such sandwiches, pizza, salad and other foods such as tacos, sushi.
Because of this similarity, we can proudly say that Avocado is a state fruit of California because of its variety in multi-culture food. California not only that place popularize Avocado but also the origin of many well-known food.
