Winston Churchill once said, “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.” Chapters six through ten have helped me to learn a variety of useful information about myself that I have been able to use regularly. By reading these chapters, I have learned how to have better priority management; learned about myself and my personality type and strong intelligence; and developed learning skills along with an effective note-taking system. This information has had an positive impact on all areas of my life including my personal life; professional life; and educational life. Starting off with chapter six, one of the most important things I learned was how to become better with priority management. I had never before contemplated the difference between listening and hearing and I learned that listening is a skill while hearing is simply taking the sound in. Learning this and how to cultivate my listening skills has helped to improve my personal relationships by actively listening to people rather than just hearing them. Before, a lot of the time I would just hear people and not actually pay attentions to what they say. By identifying the difference, I have become much better at listening and I think people enjoy talking to me more now when I am actively listening and talking. I also learned a new note-taking skill. Before hand, I would simply write the information down as I heard it or read it, without any method or technique and my notes were always unorganized and difficult to understand and navigate through. After reading chapter nine, I adopted the Outline Technique (Page 226) and I have become more organized and I use it every time I record information or take
