Our approach to design is an important part of the site interactive e-tourism , is that they focus on the user as possible. Benyon et al (2005) recognize the PACT ( people, things , and the context , and technology ) , and think of it as a case of designing an interactive system , a useful framework . We believe that the implementation of PACT analysis will be useful for the analysis and design activities , and can be seen from the understanding of the current situation in the improvement possible in future cases .
Pact and analysis , we are able to combine a group of target users and we have a variety of people , activities, and environment and technology may we all studies . Technology can perform different operations , and the overall amount of data or information. Interaction is required , it is necessary for a variety of styles. There are indications that the user can use to access our many different technologies . Technology impacts people’s lives every day, for some more than others. Technology has impacted people in numerous ways. It impacts people and businesses all around the world.
My report is on the company Hewlett – Packard (HP) which was founded in 1939. I mainly focused on the Personal Systems Group (PSG): business and consumers PCs mobile computing devices and workstations which is one of the major industries of HP. In order to succeed in the business industry a company needs to understand its customer’s needs and create wants for them. HP found out that the customer needed light weight, useful notebook PCs through its Research & Development (R&D) centre. Hence, it created a want; a New Commercial Notebook PC Compaq Evo Notebook N1015v which packs the power and performance necessary for mobility into a stylish design for only $899(US $). HP also finds out about its customer needs through online feedback forms and survey. Via that, HP was also able to understand that not everyone are able to use their products hence it has created this HP accessibility products which can be accessed by anyone including people with disabilities and age – limitations. Example of such product under the PSG industry is the Mobile Speak Pocket which was specially made for the visually impaired people. ( Refer To Exhibit 1a – 1c )
However, one small but significant aspect to the design of website involves color. This is very important when advertising in the international arena. The company will need to do accurate research to determine what colors to use based on the target audience. For example, the color white does not have the same overall meaning in other countries like in the west. White normally signifies pureness and virtue but in many Asian societies it is connected with death and lamentation. Thus, very little, if any, color of white should be used in website. Another important step in setting up the website is the process by which the information is presented. This can heavily affect the outcome of a business deal. For example, there are cultures that consider that the importance of the individual presides over that of a group, and the opposite view in others. The first thing most notable about this website was their sense of design. A black ebony background illuminated with old brush style text and decorative graphics, welcomes and invites the visitor to “Enter” their website. This particular idea is a very artistic way of getting people to interact with their website. It is studied that most people learn better by hands on interaction, instead of reading perhaps plain, boring text. Modern society heavily depends on the abilities of computers, Information Technology, and information processing. As such, since access to information occurs mainly through digital means and media, the way information is arranged and presented on the screen is crucial. Because of this need for fast access and easy arrangement arose, in the early 1980s, companies started to work on various graphical user interfaces (or GUI for short). Most dictionaries define a GUI as ‘a way of arranging information on a computer screen that is easy to understand and use because it uses icons, menus and a mouse rather than only text.’ Introducing such software allowed a human-computer interaction on a visual plane, and took computing to an entirely new level of experience. The first GUI started to emerge, as stated above, in the early 1980s, and within the last 3 decades have completely dominated the way in which human-computer communication occurs. Although some sources argue about it, it is acknowledged that the first company to use a proper graphical user interface was Apple. In 1984 they released the Macintosh computer, which used a graphical system to present information on the screen using boxes and taskbars, and utilized a revolutionary pointer device, now widely known as the mouse. Following this event, other companies started releasing their versions of GUI based operating systems, until in 1995 Microsoft presented Windows 95, which soon became a dominant power on the market, and along with its later installments, led Microsoft to be the IT giant of the 20th century.
