Iam a motivated, adaptable and responsible student who has the temperament, key skills and knowledge that are essential for the social work sector, with room for improvement. I have worked in the care industry for a quite long time now as support worker with Richmond council. I look after the physical and mental well-being of vulnerable adults in care. My main tasks are checking each resident’s needs and progress, providing physical care; which includes bathing, toileting, dressing, and feeding. More to that, creating safe and positive living environment, providing one to one counselling or group therapy sessions, teaching daily skills such as budgeting, shopping and claiming benefits. As a support worker I do help residents to deal with problems and become independent ,liaising with residents’ families and arranging family and home visits, working with other health care professionals which has helped me to learn how to keep records …show more content…

At work I make sure clients are satisfied and happy following my day to day duties like creating safe and positive living environment whereas at school, I complete my course works and any given assignments on time. The support worker role requires me sometimes to work different hours, which is not a problem on my side, to have the ability to get on with people of all ages and backgrounds and gain their trust, knowledge of the needs of different client groups. At work non-judging attitude, computer literacy and administration skills, mental strength to cope with challenging situations and clients, an understanding of safeguarding issues around vulnerable adults, team work and patience have helped me with experience to build more confidence in my abilities, and confirms that I want a career in social
