Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, and Hirohito are all well known dictators. All of them sought to increase their straight and power. They led their countries to fascism. They ran their countries by being cruel and taking the rights of their people. Their rules affected 2hat they did and believed in. Hitler became the ruler of Germany, although he was originally from Austria where his hatred started for the Jews. His main goals were to rebuild Germany's’ army and assert it’s straight. He was able to conquer Rhineland in 1936, the Sudetenland area of Czechoslovakia in 1938, and his birthplace Austria in 1938. He started to gain power through political means, gaining massive support. Once he took over he got rid of the Versailles treaty. He organized a brutal system of terror and controlled the German life, everything from religion to schools. He suspended what they taught and used what kids learned as propaganda. Joseph Stalin became leader of the USSR after Lenin’s death in 1924. Lenin had a government of abstemious communist government. When Stalin came into government he moved to a radical communist society. He moved away from the somewhat capitalist/communist economy of Lenin time to “modernize” the USSR. He wanted to industrialize and modernize USSR. He had overworked his workers, his people were dying, and most of them in slave labor camps. In fact by doing this Stalin had hindered the USSR and put them even farther back in time.

Adolf Hitler was born in Austria but later on became a German solider. He went to Germany after both his parents died, and after he was rejected from an art college. During WWI Hitler was injured twice. While he was in the hospital recovering, he found out that Germany lost the war, and he became furious. Once he got out, he joined the Nazi party and tried to overthrow the government. In the end, he was only arrested, but while he was in jail, he wrote his book, Mein Kamphf. Once he got out of jail he decided to politicaly take over. He did rallies and once everyone started to like him, he was elected Chancellor. He changed laws to make all of his future plans legal, and once the Headmaster of Germany died, Hitler became the most power. Everything he did was legal there. He made this plan called the Final Solution, that if any allied troops got into his strongholds, he would back out and take everyone down with him. This included the mass killing of almost all remaining jews. He only did this so he couldnt get charged with any crime, so there would be no witnisses, but that plan failed big time.
Mussolini came into power in 1922 and sought to make Fascism the only party in Italy, because he believed it was superior to all other parties. Both Mussolini and Hitler wanted to create a better economy for their countries, and had big plans to change the way their countries viewed things. Mussolini abolished democracy, and would not listen and shunned any ideas or citizens who opposed his political views. Although the men were quite similar in the ways they set goals for their countries, Hitler was extreme in his plans for future Germany. According to the lecture, Hitler’s plans were to make it known the Germans were the superior race, Jews and Gypsies were subhuman, Hitler promised to take back the land taken from the after the war, and Lebensraum. Both men had their countries became a part of the Axis powers, and along with Japan became Fascist nations. Mussolini’s rise to power came through his influence on the fascists people. According to the lecture it was fascists that marched to Rome in October 1922, and the people demanded that the king put Mussolini in charge of the government.
