Many times the American dream lives up to its expectations, but it also fails to meet other people’s expectations. Wal-mart has become a very popular store across the United States because it’s able to provide to the consumer what he or she wants at very low prices in comparison to other stores such as Target. Wal-mart is what people look for, a retailer where they can get everything they want within their budget. This is part of the American dream some people look forward too. Not only is Wal-Mart good for the consumers but it is also good for the owners. They attract millions of people across the united states, because they offer products that are in demand

at very reasonable prices and they are able to keep their consumers happy, this brings thousands/millions of dollars into their companies, regardless of how much money Wal-Mart makes across the country they produce many of the merchandise they sell at a very low paid labor. With this famous partnership Wal-Mart is able to save money in labor, because people in countries such as china work well below the minimum wage, and often putting over time every week. This benefits Wal-Mart and of course the company owners and China of course because it is a leading country when it comes to trade. It also benefits America of course because we buy their product regardless of how little the workers got paid, but of course this does not affect us because it does not happen in America. The workers that China has across seas working on the merchandise receive 50 cents an hour, while the workers at our local Wal-Mart are demanding $15 an hour. That is why Wal-Mart is so successful because as Americans you are only worried about what satisfies your needs and wants, regardless of who gets harm. The nation wants everything and it’s about us and only us. The success of Wal-mart is very dependent on every American because as Americans you have the right to stop buying things there knowing someone across the country is being forced into labor but we do not do this because everything inside that store is something we want and something we need in order to live in this

country. Wal-Mart has also one of the most competitive prices in the country with their ad match program. If a different store has a lower price in one of their items they match the price, and very little stores can compete with this. Why go to Wal-Mart if that store is offering you a lower price? Well because that store might be offering you a lower price in that one particular item only but at Wal-Mart they’ll match the price in that one item while the rest of your items that you are looking into purchasing are still at a lower price than the other store.
===The question here is if something is good for Wal-Mart is it good for America, and that is correct to a certain extent. Wal-Mart having the lowest prices as stated previously attracts thousands of consumers each year and this of course is good for Wal-Mart and for the consumer as well because they get products that are in demand at very low prices. With Wal-Mart opening new stores across the country, it provides Americans with jobs paying minimum wage or higher depending on the position. The more stores the more money Wal-Mart makes and the more jobs Americans have. The relationship between Wal-Mart and America comes hand in hand because what benefits Wal-Mart benefits the consumer as well.

Target is another famous and popular store that also offers many good products of high quality but their prices tend to be higher than does compared to Wal-Mart and that is the pull factor that pushes Americans into shopping at Wal-Mart more conveniently. The negative impact and the long term effects of providing low prices is that the consumers will always expect you to have the lowest prices and will become angry if it does not meet their budget, they will complain about Wal-Mart not actually having low prices and threat to never shop at Wal-Mart again. People will get used to the idea of “everyday low prices” but of course there are going to be certain times where prices will go up and some costumers will understand but others will feel insulted and argue about the topic. Americans are used to receiving but when it comes time to give they do not feel obligated but rather

insulted.
===Yes the interest of Americans as workers and the desires of Americans as consumers are conflicting set of values because they do not balance each other out. You have to take in consideration that many of Wal-Mart employees want to receive a raise many demanding minimum wage to increase from $7.50 to $15 this looks great for employees if they were ever to get a raise but in order to balance that out Wal-Mart would increase the price of their items, Inflation as we all know. This would not keep Wal-Mart customers happy, and they would lose a lot of their clients. This does not only apply to Wal-Mart itself but any job position in America. As an employee you are going to want more when it comes to salary but you will still expect for stores like Wal-Mart to keep their prices down.
