Creating a Beloved Community Imagine a happier community. Imagine a cleaner community. Imagine a community where less people live in poverty and more have what they need. These things can all become a reality. Our community can become a kinder, better place. This community can receive many benefits by improving what it already has. The community can improve by increasing the number of volunteers and the number of opportunities available. Volunteering can help people in our community get what they need. Volunteering could keep teens out of trouble. Some teens in our community need to understand that they cannot do whatever they want and that they will face consequences. We also have teens that do not care about the people who need help. Both of these groups would benefit from volunteering. It could keep teens out of trouble; they could spend time helping the community instead of hurting it. It could also show teens how fortunate they are to have the things they do and not to take them for granted when people in this community are barely getting by. Volunteering would increase if more opportunities were available to a larger group of people or to the whole community. Many opportunities are available only to the members in that club, organization, or group. If that changed, more people that were willing to help could.
