The world after Mongol conquest has been shaped and changed significantly by various important history events. These events had huge impacts on nations’ politics, economy and society. Nations were involved in the world rapid modernization process. The country I researched on is Vietnam. In this essay, I will address on the impact of important events happened since the 13th century had on Vietnam history, and the interactions between Vietnam and other parts of the world.
From 13th century to 20th century, Vietnam went through Trần Dynasty, Hồ Dynasty, Chinese domination, Later Lê Dynasty, Tây Sơn Dynasty, Nguyễn Dynasty, French “New Imperialism” and finally the Republic. The basic nature of Vietnam society did not change much during the time between independence from China in the 10th century and the colonization of French in the 19th century. The king had the highest authority in society. Absolute monarchy, agriculture economy and Chinese Confucian philosophy was the foundation of Vietnamese society.
The Mongol conquest impacted the Vietnam history. Mongols (Chinese Yuan Dynasty) invaded Vietnam in 1257. There were altogether three invasions from 1257 to 1288. Due to the heat weather, diseases and the Vietnamese resistant, Mongols were defeated. In general, Mongols did not change Vietnam politics directly. However, the ravage of Mongol invasion, military campaigns and royal incompetence finally let to an economic crisis which hastened the end of the Tran dynasty (1400). Appy’s book is valuable to its readers in showing how Vietnam became the template for every American war since, from novelties like the invasion of Grenada to the seemingly never-ending conflicts post-9/11. But before all that, there was Vietnam, and, larger lessons aside, Appy’s book is a fascinating, insightful, infuriating and thought-provoking study of that conflict, from its earliest days
The Vietnam War, which lasted for two decades (1955-1975), was probably the most problematic of all American wars. US involvement in Vietnam occurred within the larger context of the Cold War between the US and the USSR. It was, and remains, morally ambiguous and controversial. The Vietnam War was slated as both a war against Communism and a war aimed at suppressing dangerous nationalist self-determination. Christian G. Appy's book, Working-Class War: American Combat Soldiers and Vietnam, is a graphic and perceptive portrayal of soldiers' experiences and the lasting effects the Vietnam War has had on the American culture and people. Working-Class War: American Combat Soldiers and Vietnam, is an analytical work that has three major purposes: 1. to show that those who fought in Vietnam were predominantly from the working class 2. to convey the experiences of the soldiers who served in Vietnam and 3. to offer his own scathing commentary of American actions in Vietnam.
The Vietnam War: A Concise International History is a strong book that portrays a vivid picture of both sides of the war. By getting access to new information and using valid sources, Lawrence’s study deserves credibility. After reading this book, a new light and understanding of the Vietnam war exists.

Vietnam War (1954-1975) is considered as one of those big wars of the modern world that has been acknowledged and studied by countries in the world. Especially, in regard to the United States, starting and ending war in Vietnam was an unforgettable experience that has left a priceless lesson in its foreign policy, and of course a lot of loss, physically, mentally, and property. “The Legacy of Vietnam” article of George Herring basically summarizes how the Vietnam War led to an end in failure of America and what consequences it left behind.

This book would be an excellent source for anyone wanting to understand this period of the entrance into the Vietnam War. It is a great look into the character of each of the participants. It also would benefit those who are studying and learning how to develop strategy and policy for future wars that the United States may involve itself.

Learning about former was such as the Vietnam War has been apart of our education since we started school and is currently still surrounding our lives today even if we don’t realize it. Difficulties faced by soldiers due to the nature of fighting in the Vietnam War - Personnel had difficulties with transportation supplied with adapted vehicles back seat faced rear to provide additional fire power (Source A) – It appears as if the government didn't worry enough to supply men with safe and capable equipment - Threat of traps led to fear as vehicles had to be parked on street at night (Source A) o Check for traps each morning became a daily ritual particularly in fuel tanks (Source A) o A request for a locking fuel cap was denied because weren’t entitled to one” (Source A) • What circumstances would have needed to arise for them to be entitled to one? The Offensive full guard was set up (24hrs a day), personnel got no sleep and were constantly on alert (Source A) – How significant would this have been in the personnel’s mental frame of mind?
A variety of very important events that have happened in the past 100 years, many of which are wars. They have change many things from big necessities like medicine and medical practices to little ones like bandages. No matter the winner every war has good and bad consequences. Some wars have ended in triumph for the U.S.A. and its allies, however some didn’t end well at all. A very important war with many consequences, and an example of a loss for the U.S.A., is the Vietnam war. This paper will cover the Vietnam war from both the perspectives of the Americans at home as well as what's going on in Vietnam between the years of 1955 and 1975.
