The main component I look for in college is their commitment to further my studies. I feel this college will provide an ingenious culture within the science field, therefore rendering myself with the building blocks necessary to later pursue the medical field. Not only does UNCW devote itself towards their student’s undergraduate years, but also by providing Professional pathways such as Pre-Medicine, students such as myself can go into Professional schools better prepared. In addition to my interest in the academics the school has to offer, I also marvel at the amount of extracurricular activities available to the student body. ...Selecting a college to attend was a lengthy process. I applied to four different schools. I outweighed all the pros and cons of each college. The ultimate goal was to persevere and graduate with a degree. As a high school student, I think I found Ohio State appealing because of all the hype that surrounded it. Once I came to the conclusion that I wanted to go into the medical field, I realized that I needed to be in an atmosphere where I could maintain my focus. Nonetheless, the most consequential influencing factor was regarding finances. Case was extremely expensive but I received a substantial amount of financial help compared to Ohio State. In addition, I was fortunate to obtain a work study job that helped with living expenses. I knew that college would not be easy especially given Case’s reputation. In the end, I am confident I made the correct decision.
An HBCU is a college/university that embeds the nature of power and black excellence; a place with surroundings that doesn’t force you, but makes you want to push yourself to become a better person inside and out, and throughout the community. Transferring would allow myself to be put in an atmosphere of continuous motivation and growth that I would feed off of my superiors and the people around me.
Going to college is a big step in a young person’s life. That is why when going to college; one should know which college they would like to go to. For me personally, the college of my dreams is Louisiana State University. The top three majors at Louisiana State University are Biology, Biomedical engineering, and Business. In conclusion, I was fortunate enough to understand many important things in life. Whoosh!A bed whizzed by, surrounded by about 6 medical personnel. “What’s going on?” I thought immediately with apprehension. I knew whatever was happening it was not ideal. Ensuring I was not in the way, I stood on my toes to see what demanded so much attention. To my astonishment, I saw a coin sized hot-pink little girl. She could not have been bigger than two quarters lying side by side.She was struggling! Even with all the procedures the doctors were executing to save her life, she was performing the most work.
August 30th move in day here at Southern New Hampshire University, boy was I excited. I had spent weeks gathering my things and preparing for my big move into college. Once I had settled on that warm summer day I said goodbye to my parents and started my journey as a student at SNHU. I remember how I felt the first couple of weeks full of excitement to meet people and become part of the SNHU community. Although full of excitement I began to second-guess myself, I had felt very dissatisfied with my living situation for a great deal of the first semester. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to move into Washington with another student, which has been great. I find as I spend more time here at SNHU the more it feels like home.
I am a dedicated, focused student looking to push the boundaries of Engineering Physics with creative out of the box thinking. I have the drive to be successful and positively represent UBC Engineering Physics. I have a passion for physics and math which is why I believe this program is so appealing and a perfect choice. Having already started, run and sold a successful landscaping company, I have experience in entrepreneurship and have determined being an entrepreneur is something I want to pursue in the future. I believe Engineering Physics would give me the opportunity and breadth of knowledge to make my entrepreneurial vision a reality and allow me to find solutions to the issues that will impact the future of humanity. Some would say this is just because they’re the people I have to spend the majority of my time with, but that isn’t true. I love spending time with people who willingly form study groups and have strong interests in academic subjects. Even if I’m just going to Panera to hang out with someone, I usually end up learning something new or teaching. In college, I want to continue to surround myself with the type of people who read about Middle Eastern relations or write computer codes in their free time. Residing in Toscanini College will allow me to continue surrounding myself with fellow lovers of learning both inside and outside of my classes. I’d love to participate in a Pizza and Game Night or see a Broadway show with friends through the unique opportunities the Honors College has to offer. While the Honors College courses will allow me to be intellectually stimulated in school, the social activities offered will allow this intellectual stimulation to extend to the world
What jumps to my mind the most about Macalester College is the Mission Statement. Coming from Gaza Strip and traveling to the US as an exchange student for one year made me highly interested in cultures and diversity. Mac is greatly centered around multiculturalism and internationalism, which is exactly what I'm looking for. During my exchange year, beside growing up as a person, I have made so many friends from all over the world and I have learned so much about their cultures. Mac has such a diverse student body and with all the organizations and clubs that connect these students together, it becomes a better place for me to continue my path of learning about these cultures and make more friends. Not forgetting the strong academics that Mac offers, which will qualify me to be an erudite person to make a change in the world.
Not to sound too much of a fangirl, but if I was in the world of Harry Potter, the Sorting Hat would have without a doubt put me in Ravenclaw. I have been known for my voracious appetite for reading and learning new topics. I also am know to be very strong-willed, sometimes even obstinate, which has helped me overcome challenges in my academic career. Most of all, I am a humanist in philosophical sense that I want my legacy of doing some good in the world. That is why it has been my life’s goal to earn a Ph.D., and I have learned through various life experiences that I want to do so in the field of Public Administration concentrating on Law and Public Policy.
I am currently applying for the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at University of Michigan. When I was young, I have dreamed of going beyond the boarders of my hometown, eager to explore the rest of the world. My spirit of adventure only grows along with time. Since the beginning of my academic endeavors, I have long cherished a dream to be a member of the social science research community, which gives our society progressive insights into human ecology. I began my undergraduate studies at Ramapo College of New Jersey with a passion for ecological justice and with the intention of majoring in environmental studies. Ramapo College’s progressive liberal arts foundation provided me with ample room to explore the multifarious array of social science courses. As I took more social science courses, however, my understanding of human social groups underwent a metamorphosis. As a result, I decided to pursue a degree in Social Science, with minors in the two fields I felt most passionately interested in, Women’s Studies and African American Studies.
There is a multitude of reasons NYU has sparked an interest as one of my top college options. It is located in New York City, the greatest city in the world. It offers the top of the line academic programs, including a large diversity of study abroad opportunities. NYU has a large student population, making it easy to connect with others and share common interest in specific fields. Also this large student population increases competition, and I enjoy working towards being the best when there is a great number of competitors. Overall I believe NYU would supply my needs as an academic over achiever.
