The purpose of this paper is to analyze and inform its reader about the details concerning my Theology of Preaching. In this process, the intention is to also detail information involving the role of preaching in my ministry, the preparation, the place, the purpose, the approach, and the delivery of the sermons, including the Biblical text citation to illustrate and support my ideas. In my theology of preaching, various criteria are described and detailed. To understand theology is to understand biblical knowledge of God, the Bible, and its content from the Old and New Testament. Theology also relates to the issues of general culture and learning, attempts to relate its view of origins to the concepts advanced by science, human nature to psychology’s understanding of personality, its conception of providence to the work of philosophy of history, and so on. Theology must also be contemporary- treats timeless issues, use language, concepts, and thought forms that make some sense in the context of the present time. Paul chief complaints is for the strengthening of the church. Whatever we do in the church praying, meditating day and night, and preaching about the law of the Lord is our delight, are all for the edification and evangelizing of the church. Additionally, we preach for change, to guide, and to instruct as well as whatever text God reveals has their contribution to the church, including the genre, the laws, the history, the writings, the prophets, the gospels, and the epistles. Thus, the preparation phase commenced with prayer, meditation, a place of solitude to further hear from the Lord, along with his guidance become of importance. Being in a quiet tranquil place gives the opportunity to collect, confirm, and familiarizing the self with the text. Using “various study Bible (NIV, ESV, or NASB) translation, gives vital notes, cross-references, and other great introductory material for studying biblical texts. Another benefit of a study Bible is that it outlines each book of the Bible which can be used for narrowing down a passage or text range from which to preach and can also help in the understanding of where a passage fits in the flow of a specific book of the Bible. Paraphrasing for comparative purposes, exceedingly helpful to compare passages and taking notes or drawing sentence diagram sis also important. Having a Bible dictionary (Zondervan, Holman, and Vine’s Bible dictionaries) to answers who, what, when, where, why, and how questions of the text. Having a good, technical commentary (Word Biblical Commentary or similar) help preachers develop a depth of knowledge regarding a text, including an understanding of issues with the original language and deep insights into the culture and context of the passage in its original
