The Wright brothers were engineers and pioneers of aviation. Wilbur Wright was born April 16, 1867, near Millville, Indiana. He was the middle child in a family of five children. His father, Milton Wright, was a bishop in the Church of the United Brethren in Christ. His mother was Susan Catherine Koerner. When Wilbur was a child, his playmate was his younger brother, Orville Wright, born in 1871. The Wright brothers achieved the first powered, and controlled airplane flight. They surpassed their own milestone two years later when they built and flew the first fully practical plane. Wilbur was a bright and studious child, and excelled in school. He made many public flights, and gave rides to officials, journalists and statesmen. in 1909 Orville joined his brother in Europe, also their younger sister Katharine joined Willbur. The Wrights became huge celebrities there, hosted by royals and heads of state, and constantly featured in the press. The Wrights began to sell their airplanes in Europe, before returning to the United States in 1909. The brothers became wealthy businessmen, filling contracts for airplanes in Europe and the United States. Wilbur and Orville always took shared credit for their innovations, and kept a close relationship throughout their lives. however, there was a division of labor. With his sharp instincts, Wilbur was the business mind and executive of the operation, serving as president of the Wright company. Wilbur felt sick on a trip to Boston in April 1912. He was diagnosed with typhoid fever, and died on May 30 at his family home in Dayton, Ohio. Milton Wright wrote in his diary, “A short life, full of consequences. An unfailing intellect, imperturbable temper, great self-reliance and as great modesty,” Milton Wright Milton Wright was a bishop born on 1828, on his father's farm in Rush County, Indiana. He was the father of Orville and Willbur Wright, husband of Susan Catherine Koerner. He had his own personal conversion, which came over him in 1843 when he was just 15 years old . He did not suddenly join a church, but looked over the various faiths. In 1847, he chose to become a United Brethren with his brother William. Milton rose quickly in the church. He was a deacon in just two years, then gave his first sermon a year later, and joined the local church governing body in 1853. Milton Wright Marriage It was here he met Susan Koerner, his, “future wife.” It was a long courtship. Milton fell ill that year and had to return to his farm. He recovered and taught school at Neffs Corner, in Decatur County, Indiana for two years while he studied for the ministry. In 1856, he was ordained by a minister close to the White River Conference of the Church of the United Brethren. They called him a "circuit preacher," traveling from church to church in Indiana. His circuit took him by Hartsville, where he continued to see Ms. Koerner. In 1857, he accepted an appointment as a missionary in the gold fields of Oregon. He asked Susan to marry him and travel west. She agreed to marry but refused to go to Oregon. Instead, she said she would marry Milton when he returned from the west, provided the two of them still felt the same way about each other.
Looking back upon the decade, the 1920s has been filled with many individuals who have changed our society. But there is one person who stands out among this group of people, Charles Augustus Lindbergh. Charles Lindbergh was the first person to fly solo overseas, thus winning the Orteig Prize for his accomplishment. He was trained in the US Army as an Army Air Reserve pilot and he worked as an airmail pilot after his training under the U.S Army. The Air Mail Act 1925 was the first legislation targeted to free airmail services from controlled Post Office Department. His influence in aviation industry shown that one pilot can cross in a long distance with no accurate forecast and a 34 hours flight to Paris which made him as an international hero.

In the book The Invention Of Wings there were many themes written all over it. Though I found that the theme in this book is, everyone should be treated the same no matter the color of your skin. For example, in the book all of Mr. and Mrs. Grimke slaves were treated horrible. Unlike Sarah, at a very young age wasn’t blind on how badly the slaves were being treated. Sarah didn’t believe in any human being treated the way they were being treated. Wilbur and Orville Wright spent their lives building and working with mechanical devices. They began with little toys as children and then grew up and began working with bicycles. These works lead them towards their work with airplanes. The Wright Brothers tried for many years to build a successful flying machine and succeeded. On April 16, 1867 Wilbur Wright was born on a small farm near Millville, Indiana. He was the third son of Milton and Susan Wright. Milton was a clergyman, teacher, and farmer. He became editor of a weekly religious telescope and moved his family to Dayton, Ohio where the magazine was published and bought a house at 7 Hawthorn Street where their fourth son Orville Wright was born on August 19, 1871.
Frank Lloyd Wright was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin on June 8, 1867. His parents, William Cary Wright and Anna Lloyd-Jones, originally named him Frank Lincoln Wright, which he later changed after they divorced. When he was twelve years old, Wright's family settled in Madison, Wisconsin where he attended Madison High School. During summers spent on his Uncle James Lloyd Jones' farm in Spring Green, Wisconsin, Wright first began to realize his dream of becoming an architect. In 1885, he left Madison without finishing high school to work for Allan Conover, the Dean of the University of Wisconsin's Engineering department. The history of flying dates back as early as the fifteenth century. A Renaissance man named Leonardo da Vinci introduced a flying machine known as the ornithopter. Da Vinci proposed the idea of a machine that had bird like flying capabilities. Today no ornithopters exist due to the restrictions of humans, and that the ornithopters just aren’t practical. During the eighteenth century a philosopher named Sir George Cayley had practical ideas of modern aircraft. Cayley never really designed any workable aircraft, but had many incredible ideas such as lift, thrust, and rigid wings to provide for lift. In the late nineteenth century the progress of aircraft picks up. Several designers such as Henson and Langley, both paved the way for the early 1900’s aircraft design. There are many factors to why a rubber band airplane flies like lift, gravity, thrust, stability, angle of attack, and air drag, but let me start at the beginning The Wright brothers were the first to produce a manned, heavier-than-air machine that left the ground by itself, moved forward, but didn't decrease speed, and landed on a higher point than where it started. Their airplane flew in 1903, but was only in the air for 12 seconds, as months went by they improved the flight time to 38 minutes. They never graduated high school, but developed the first flying airplane.
The modern day and age that we live in would be amazingly different if we did not have the technology of flight. The long journey to where we are today began in the year 1903. On December 17, 1903 Orville wright, with the assistance of his brother, sustained the first powered flight. The flights duration only last a total length of twelve seconds, but it was a gigantic stepping stone into the world of aviation.
Alternative Action 1. Due to the fact, that the Wright brothers used a system called, wing warping, Curtiss, and the AEA decided to use a different technique to achieve lateral roll. They would, instead, use small movable panels. These panels that are placed on the end of each wing are called ailerons. Although this technique had not been invented by Curtiss, they were not yet patented by anyone (Simanaitis, 2012).
The Wright brothers set off about 1000 planes and gliders off of this famous hill located at Kitty Hawk. They had now transitioned from making unpowered aircrafts to now fully powered aircrafts. There are many inventions of the future that people either know or hope will happen and some inventions that people have never thought that would happen in this or the next lifetime. For instance, one piece of future technology that I believe may come to pass is the invention of flying cars. Since the time of being young and watching the Jetsons, many people have been waiting to see the first flying car. While bringing up the idea of a flying car to a lot of people would seem absurd or downright impossible to some, I actually believe that it is very much so possible to create given how far technology has come in the past few decades. I think that it is a very logical conclusion to assume that at some point in the future engineers, car makers, and others will start to pursue other alternatives to avoiding traffic jams and other problems on the road, and instead begin to examine the possibilities of taking to the air as an alternative solution. There is much talk about it over the internet and many people would like to try flying cars. While it would greatly improve traffic for those that prefer staying on the ground, it may prove dangerous in the beginning because of accidents in the air with other cars, planes, trees, and buildings. Some would say though, that the convenience would outweigh the risks because there would not be traffic jams, or detours because of road work. These cars would need something like a GPS system and an anti-wrecking system so people would not run into each other or other objects (How Flying Cars Will Work).
