Romeo is a static character who can’t keep himself from falling in love. Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, it’s a play based upon a 16 year old boy who can’t keep himself from falling in love with a 13 year old girl. Romeo is not one to fight but on to love, he’ll go as far as to death for her. Romeo lives in the middle of a violent feud between his family and the Capulets. Romeo is a lover, not a fighter, his only interest is love. Romeo is smart, impulsive and immature. Since Romeo loves Juliet, he affects the characters negatively causing them to fight.
Romeo is not one to fight but one to love. Romeo wishes the feud between his family and Juliet’s family would stop. Romeo doesn’t want to fight Tybalt because he just married Juliet, Romeo sees Tybalt as family. Romeo is sad that he is banned from Verona because everyone except him will be able to see Juliet. In act 3 scene 3 Romeo says “There is no world without Verona walls but purgatory, torture, hell itself. Hence “banished” is banished from the world, and worlds exile is death, then “banished” (17 ). In the beginning the scene opens with a brawl on the streets of Verona between servants from the Montague and Capulet family. The feud between the families is an “ancient grudge,” the feud has recently renewed in intensity. After Prince Escalus breaks up the fight, he says that fights have broken out three times recently between the two families and has disturbed the peace in Verona. The beginning of the prologue states “Two households, both alike in dignity from ancient grudge to new mutiny, where civil blood makes civil hands unclean ( 1 ). This shows that both of the families that are very similar hold an ancient grudge and it affects the characters negatively causing Romeo and Juliet to kill themselves because they aren’t not allowed to love each
