Ancient Egypt was unified in 3100 B.C. Ancient Egypt was a civilization of ancient Northeastern Africa. It was an oasis in the desert of northeastern Africa, located along the lower reaches of the Nile River in the place that is now the country Egypt. As many other economies during this time were, Egypt’s economy was based on agriculture and trade.(TimeMaps Staff) Ancient Egypt began to weaken during around 700 B.C. A number of other civilizations had conquered them. The first empire to conquer Egypt was the Assyrian empire. The next was the Persian Empire. Then in 332 BC, Alexander the Great of Greece conquered Egypt. He then created his own ruling family called the Ptolemaic Dynasty. Then finally, the Romans intruded in 30 B.C. and made Egypt a province of Rome. Ancient Egypt was an incredibly influential civilization, that still influences us today in our society without us even knowing it. The Egyptians were known for being incredible innovators. People today still have no idea how to duplicate some of the achievements of the Ancient Egyptians. It is important that people today understand and recognize the influence of the Ancient Egyptians so people may understand how the way we live today in modern society was paved for us. Egypt was responsible for many cultural advances in many different areas of knowledge. They made advancements in areas such as, the arts, scientific advances, technological advances, agricultural advances and religious advances. Due to this we can learn a lot from studying the Ancient Egyptian society. We may take their mistakes and make sure to prevent them for ourselves, and we may take the knowledge they developed and continue to build onto it. We can use their work to expand our own horizons as a society. Not only can we learn from the literal information that they brought to recognition, but we may be inspired by their drive to continue to gain knowledge throughout their entire reign. We as people, and as a civilization, should always keep this drive and thirst to learn. It is important to continue to improve and innovate as a society in order to continue to thrive and become better and better. This way is the only way to build a better and more efficient
