Slime Molds
There are over 500 different types of slime molds, or myxomycetes as the scientific world calls them. Slime molds have been difficult to classify for years do to the fact that they exhibit characteristics of both fungi and animals. In the feeding stage, the slime molds moves about as a mass of protoplasm(the plasmodium)feeding on bacteria, spores, and other organic matter, much like an amoeba does. When conditions become unfavorable , the plasmodium changes, taking on the appearance of a fungus.
There are two major types of slime molds in the Protist Kingdom. The first kind are the Plasmodial slime molds or true slime molds. They are a rather large singled celled mass with thousands and thousands of nuclei called a plasmodium. They form when individual flagellated cells gather together in a bunch and fuse. This results in one large cytoplasm. The second kind of slime mold spends most of its life as single celled organism that lives alone. It is also known in the scientific world as acrasiomycetes. They release of a chemical signal, gather together, and become a mass called a pseudoplasmodia and eventually multicellular slug. They have different reproductive means and are often separated from plasmodial by scientist.
Many kinds of slime molds reproduce by means on spores. The spores drift along in the wind or are carried about by animals and insects much like seeds are. Also, like seeds the spores wait until conditions are favorable before developing. The spore are unable to move on there own. If smile molds reproduced sexually they may be considered to be an Animal instead of an Protist. However, not all slime molds reproduce exactly the same way.
The slime mold has a simple environment. They can be found in cool, damp places were they can easily find food. Most species that feed on decaying organic matter, bacteria, protozoa, and other minute organisms, which they engulfs and digests. They may live on plants, but do not try to kill the plant to eat. They do not mean to harm the plant, although they sometimes smother the plant in which they are living on by not allowing sun light reach the leaves.
A slime mold may be either bright colored or inconspicuous. They come in many different shapes and forms. They can be found in different sizes ranging from less than an inch to several feet wide. They also come in many different colors.

Knights were expected to follow a code of honor called ‘‘chivalry’’. Knights had to be loyal subjects first, competent warriors second and chivalrous third, adhering to a strict code of conduct that governed their lives. Though most were the noble birth, knights did not have to nobles. Training to become a knight was arduous and lengthy, even for most highly born. Knights were employed as soldiers by the european noble. Knights were professional warriors. Knights had military training. Knights fight to protect their land and people. Knights began training as children. Knights had to learn how to ride a pony. At the age of 14 they were eligible to become a squire. Then they were sented to serve as a page to his father’s
Feudal qualities included skills in arms, bravery in battle, courtesy towards rivals and helpfulness towards low class. The main qualities were loyalty to a lord and skill in protecting that lord. Glory and honor were the highest qualities of a knight. Social skills were also required, such as conversation, dancing, and capability of playing a musical instrument (Dickerman, 611-12)
Bacteria are single celled microbes. Bacteria reproduce by binary fission. In this process, the bacterium, which is a single cell, divides into two identical daughter cells. Binary
The knight was the rock star of the middle ages. He took up diffucult challages and faced them with no fear. The knight fought for God, as did all knights. The knight also fought for love, courtly love that is. The knight aslo lived by a code called the code of chivalry. In the knights tale, Geoffrey Chaucer proves how the knights in the middle ages are modest and show chivalric ways of life.
A Knight’s Code of Chivalry was a moral system which went beyond rules of combat and introduced qualities idealized by knights. These qualities were bravery, courtesy, honor, gallantry, and loyalty. The ideals described in the Code of Conduct were emphasized by the oaths and vows that were sworn in the Knighthood ceremonies of the middle Ages and medieval era. These sacred oaths of combat were combined with the ideals of chivalry and with strict rules of etiquette and conduct. The ideals of a Knights Code of Conduct were publicized in the poems, ballads, writings, and literary works of Knights authors. The wandering minstrel of the middle Ages sang these ballads and were expects to memorize the words of long poems describing the velour and the code of conduct followed by the medieval knights. The Dark Age myths of Arthurian Legends featuring King Arthur, Camelot and the Knight of the Round Table further strengthen the idea of the Knights Code of Conduct. Sir Gawain showed all of these qualities throughout the book. He showed bravery by standing up and striking the Green Knight even though he knew that he had to find the Green Knight and be struck back. Sir Gawain displayed courtesy by staying with King Bercilak even though he knew he had to find the Green Knight. Sir Gawain’s honor was proved when he stood up to strike the Green Knight so that King Arthur did not have to strike him. Sir Gawain
He also was prideful and used his knighthood to impress others “And had done valiantly in little space / Of time, in hope to win his lady’s grace.” (89-90). He wore flashy clothing and had curly locks “With locks as curly as if they had been pressed. / … / He was embroidered like a meadow bright / And full of the freshest flowers, red and white (83, 91-92).” The Squire can be compared to The Knight by his connections, battles, sin or virtue, and
Chivalry was considered to be the code of behavior expected of a knight. It was the conduct, ideas, and ideals of the knightly class of the Middle Ages. It became standardized and referred to as chivalry, a term derived from the French word chevalier, meaning knight. The code urged the knight to be brave, courageous, honorable, true to his word, and loyal to his feudal overlord, and to defend his Church. A knight was truthful, honest, capable, educated, physically fit, noble, sincere, and subservient to the king. A serious violation of these vows could result in a knight being classed as an undignified knight, which was the ultimate insult because of all the hard work that was put into becoming a knight. It made it seem as if all of work was done for nothing.
The Medieval knight followed a strict and detailed Code of Chivalry, which dictated his lifestyles and actions throughout the medieval ages. A man went through a lot to become a knight. The training took years and it was very tedious at times. “The obligations of knighthood were so heavy that sometimes squires refused knighthood and remained squires all their lives”(Buehr 33). After all the years of training, one day made it all worthwhile. The knighting ceremony was very involved, solemn and religious. The night before, the soon-to-be knight knelt on an altar praying to God and reflecting on his future knighthood. The next day, he was clothed all in white. He attended a mass where he made his vows. He made a vow to use his sword in defense and protection of all. He also made vows to maintain knightly honor and integrity and to live by the Code of Chivalry.
Microorganism is a living thing that cannot be seen by naked eye and is so small in size. Microorganism usually can be seen through microscope because microscope have the ability to see small thing using various magnification. The examples of microorganism are bacteria, fungi, protozoa, algae and virus. Among all of the microorganisms, bacteria have the greatest advantages in preserving food and beverages. Bacteria are generally harmless but can produce enzymes that can alter the structure the food. In extreme cases, bacteria can secrete toxic substances that can cause the food to spoil.
Knights today are considered well educated, highly respected individuals. Chaucer introduces the knight as a highly respected individual. In the late 1300’s knights were commonplace and
...yday life, the knight was supposed to follow the code of chivalry and exalt his moral virtues, humility was one of them, for example. However, he was engaged in battles and tournaments seeking for honour, prestige and power. There was no other alternative, he ?had to? win, and in this way, he would have the respect and admiration of others. A well-known surname, an expensive armour, good weapons and a trained horse were not enough. In knighthood, it was extremely important that a knight would become popular and have a high social standing.
Spores all the time haploid and unicellular and are generated by meiosis in the sporangium of a diploid sporophyte. Under convenient conditions the spore can use mitotic division to promote into a new organism, which produce a multicellular gametophyte, which eventually goes on to produce gametes. Zygote been formed from Two gametes, which develops into a new sporophyte. This cycle is known as alternation of generations.
Knights were an important part of society and feudalism in the Middle Ages, knights were soldiers of the Lord or King and their first priority was to the person he served.Feudalism is the form of government and organization that held medieval society together and kept them from complete chaos. Knights upheld the laws and served their Lord, they made oaths and agreements and both the Lord and knight depended on each other. Feudalism made sure that everyone got what they needed by making oaths and agreements that keep loyalty to the Lord, so if you did something for someone they do something for you, and knights were a key part of feudalism because they kept law and order and protected the Lord.
Knights during this time had masculine features and wore a robust. "This noble lord is lengthy in the stride and narrow hipped and broad across the back; his chest is deep and beautifully molded.”(37) Knights took extreme pride in their appearance. This may not have been as important as fighting skills, but this could have helped intimidate opponents if a large unit also dressed the part.

Slime also helps them from becoming waterlogged. Amphibians secrete slime from many mucous glands contained in their skin. The skin of many amphibians must be maintained moist at all times to help the animal breathe since it is a respiratory organ.
