Should student athletes be paid at the college level. Athletes should be paid at the college level because there is a lot of money being made in the NCAA. Student athletes are being considered amateurs because of the forth of effort to the business for no pay. Students spend up to 50 to 60 hours per week.Which limits there ability to find a good job that will match their schedule. Statistics show that 11 million dollars are being made a year and none of this money is seen by the players. That is very eccentric because the players play a important role in the sports business. Players also promote the business and bring more viewers and money to the business as well. The organization should give the players the benefit of the doubt because with out the help of the players the organization would significantly fall. The huge amount of money have left people questioning whether athletes should be paid. Another supporting detail is that students athletes would be able to buy safe and reliable equipment to play sports with a safe environment. Many players suffer injuries and could also use the money to pay for there surgery or medical expenses. The risk of playing sports in college is very high because if you get hurt and have no funds from the league it could be very hard trying to get back on your feet. Especially …show more content…

They could come from a poor family and their family could have to use their funds to pay for his college expenses which could cause his family to struggle. Players would want to do other things other then football at some point of time and using there own money could help out others .
