SETTING PERSONAL GOALS (Parts 1) 1. How do you proactively engage in your own education beyond class time and requirements? If this has not been part of your practice so far, explain why you want to be involved in this major when this is going to be asked of you. I use my spare time drawing and looking at examples of artists or more specifically in my case cartoonist and graphic novelist. I look at their works as references and think things like “How did they do that?” or “How could I incorporate it into my own work. I also look at my own work and try to think of ways to improve them and learn from them. 2. Aside from skill sets, what kind of information do you seek from 4 dedicated years of your life in an art major? I wish to get information …show more content…
1. Describe a specific long term goal for the semester before you graduate. My first long term goal is that by my last semester that I will already have contact info with an animation company. By spring I will send my digital portfolio to at least three animation companies for a job. I will send a variety of short and long animations and hopefully will hear something back before June and by the end of graduation, I will have a startup animation job. 2. Describe a specific long term goal you’d like to attain 5 years from now. My goal is that in five years I will be working for Cartoon Network and have my own show. After working at a small animation company after graduation for a year I will send all of my work that I have done for the company and my own personal work in a digital portfolio along with a storyboard for a potential show. I will work on my personal animation on my down time and hopefully, have the number of a show producer for the network in the first eight …show more content…
Reflect on the goals you set out in the beginning of the semester. How have your thoughts about what you wrote changed over the last 4 months, based on your life experiences? As I read over my past responses that I had written almost four months ago I have realized how short four months can actually be. While gandering over my past responses my resolve to accomplish these aforementioned goals has not diminished in the slightest degree, however, the only aspect that may have changed is the time it will take to accomplish the long term goal. While the time at UNCC has helped develop my skills and way of thinking as an artist it also helped me realized that my skills have a long way to go before I am able to work at Cartoon Network let alone have my own show on the aforementioned network. While my passion for my dreams is still just as strong as the beginning of the semester, with the time I have spent at UNCC I now plan to reach my end goal in a more realistic fashion with taking small steps instead of taking one big jump that will most likely fail. 2. What personal values, skills and interests worked best to help you progress towards your goals this semester? Did you expect this to be the
... some points I'm going to cross common experiences. Some of them are going to stick and become a little bit peculiarly mine . . . I don't worry about that. I worry about the paintings . . . the drive to make art ("Concepts in career: Frank Stella").
...self working in a healthcare facility (hopefully a doctor’s office). In five years I plan to start working on my Bachelor of Science in Health Science Degree. In five years I would’ve gotten the experience and knowledge I need to move forward in the facility.
Where do you want to be in 5 years? How can you achieve this goal?
In this reflection, describe an event or an experience in your life that will influence your academic work and goals at Colorado Christian University.
My second long-term goal is to think about retirement and beyond. I have been blessed with such an amazing career. I would like to be able to retire from work and spend time with my wife and future grandchildren. I would like to be financially secure and healthy enough to continue helping others.
1.Tell us about yourself, your family, community and why you have decided to pursue a post-secondary education and your field of study?
Who created that animated movie? Or that amazing graphic novel? It wasn’t a bird or a plane and it was definitely not a superhero, it was an animator or a comic illustrator/cartoonist. After completing the Career Inventory test, the two careers recommended for me are that of a cartoonist/comic illustrator and animator. Cartoonists/comic illustrators and animators have similarities in their job description, education, and the skills needed, yet both have differences in their working conditions, any money earned, and the job outlook.
We will be discussing my educational journey that talks about my endeavors as me being a student, and I’ll be writing my positive road of how my experience was with middle school, elementary school and finally high school, also I will be talking more about how I got inspired to be a great student and set a good example to my colleagues, after that I’ll be talking more about my current English level in college, and how I was picked into that class, and what are the reasons that made me join the college of MSJC, additionally I’ll be going to delve more into my choice in life, or what do I need to do by going to a higher education, whether it’s long term or short-term , and finally why I chose to join this course.
The first thing on my list is to graduate high school. I will accomplish this by working hard in my classes to achieve good grades. Being my senior year, I plan to really concentrate on my school work to help get a better grade point average (G.P.A). By earning a higher G.P.A. it can help lead to scholarships,...
1) What area of course content do you believe will be the most useful in your professional career? Why do you believe this? How do you think you think this will be useful?
Personally, I have a ton of long term goals. If I had to narrow it down to five goals, my goals would be: to start a business or two within the equine industry, to have gotten a good ribbon at Louisville or Oklahoma, to have finished college within three to four years with double major and two minors, to be financially stable, and the most important is wanting to be happy with my life and myself as an individual.
...elieve simply writing these goals out will manifest themselves and I look at where I came from to where I am now and where I can be in the future. I am very enthusiastic about advancing both in academia and career wise above all I am excited about the positive affects my journey will exsanguinate to others clients, family members, friends, and colleagues. As these people will positively affect my journey too in my point of view most things are circular and transactional. We all contribute to each other one way or another.
I selected art education as a major because I have a drive for educating others and because my passion for art is unlimited. My excitement is uncontainable for my future career and to be able to teach others the knowledge I know. Vincent Van Gogh said “I dream of painting and then painted my dream,” and I cannot wait to live my dream in the University of Northern Art Art Education
For my first prompt, I chose the third one(Describe a moment in school last year when you felt really engaged. Why do you think that moment was such a positive one for you?). Last year, my language arts class was online so therefore, I never really felt very engaged in that classwork. So, if I had to pick one moment I felt very engaged in school, I would choose a project that i did in social studies last year. In that particular class, I had 3 of my closest friends. My teacher assigned us a project over the Civil War, and there were multiple ways to complete it. The one that my friends and I chose meant that we had to make a video telling all about it. I felt very engaged which was very abnormal because I do not normally like video projects. Anyways, the self-learning and doing the project with my friends made me feel really engaged with what I was learning. It was a positive moment for me because I realized that even though I usually learn best a certain way, other ways of learning can actually help me too and bring in a
