Romeo and Juliet Expository Essay In William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, love causes empowering feelings of joy, The most wonderful of all things in life, I believe, is the discovery of another human being with whom one's relationship has a glowing depth, beauty, and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is the most marvelous thing, it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of divine accident (Sir Hugh Walpoe).
However, at times love can cause great pain. In Shakespeare’s play, Juliet, a brave young woman belonging to the Capulet family, has fallen deeply in love with a Montague by the name of Romeo. Romeo is a Montague and choosing to wed him leads to a feud between Juliet and her family. In choosing Romeo, Juliet proves she values happiness more than her family’s view point of her. By causing a family feud, Juliet set the attitude and theme of the play. For instance, through this uproar Shakespeare is able to create a background that adds to the plot which leads to Romeo and Juliet getting married in secret. Romeo and Juliet aren't able to see all that love has to offer given the short time frame they have. Ultimately, these “star-crossed lovers” rush into marriage, which leads to their deaths.
