Reflective Writing Assignment

Reflective Cover Essay I have learned a wide variety of material in this class. My critical thinking, research writing, and digital writing skills have all improved, as a result of this class. Throughout this eight week course, I have not only enhanced my overall writing skills, but I have also learned how to identify, and use reliable sources to my advantage. I have done so, all while giving the proper credit where it is due. My portfolio will include much of the material I did in this class. From my essay collection, to a few of my discussion posts, each given assignment helped me expand on my writing and improve my overall skills. Before this course, I was never familiar with the American Psychological Association format of writing, also known as APA style. This course helped me learn the specific APA style, as well as enhance my general ability of the MLA style. One specific site that I used to my advantage, is Owl Purdue Online Writing Lab. Throughout this course, I learned the proper techniques on how to create a research paper, and how to research topics properly. I never truly understood what a research paper was until now. Researching a topic and writing about can be hard, but it can be a very rewarding outcome. Specifically, during this course, I researched the sleep cycle, and the issues involved with inadequate sleep. Researching such a detail topic helped me better understand the cycle and the health issues that are linked to a lack of sleep. I informed the reader of detailed information, and I gained knowledge from doing so. In my opinion, knowledge is the most powerful tool in the world. Not only did my research writing skills improve, but my researching skills in general improved as well. While this course developed my research writing skills, it also greatly enhanced my digital writing skills
